    My wedding area

That's awesome! As an Android player I wish I could've gotten my hands on all the Valentine stuff. :(

A lot of REALLY great ideas for repurposing here, thanks everyone for sharing them! As you know menace, I tend to get lost in your SF, there are so many really lovely places to visit and you have amazing horticultural displays everywhere, and I love your uses for debris. Miss having you as a neighbour Pharrah, and you shared one of my most favourite spots in your SF, El Chemistri as a beach house.

Here are a couple of my repurposing ideas...
Snake Logs, cones and barriers to create an obstacle course...
    LP9Gpmpl.jpg

Gas pumps repurposed into walls for the Duff Brewery...
    2Dd1dSDl.jpg

I'll be bookmarking this thread too, great idea Pharrah!

Thanks Pix, I still say the gas pump wall is my all time fav decoration in your SF. Pure genius!

I am so thrilled to see this thread continuing today! Again, more great stuff being posted and shared, just wonderful.

I believe it is threads like this that bring light to some, showing TSTO is and can be more than just throwing stuff down and waiting for events. And, for others perhaps inspiring to keep doing what we do... Create, create, create!

Again thank you to all who participate and share. I feel this is the stuff that strengthens our forum community - by inspiring and having admiration for each other.

@graywolf- I am so glad you posted that fence. When playing around with the fences I had done that, but then tore it down thinking it lacked realism. Then you showed that real life pic and my faith in that particular design is anew! What a find. :)

@pixaa- I am so glad you posted the brewery! That repurposing of the gas pumps was one of those things that stopped me in my tracks when I first saw it. I could not help to admire the creativity and uniqueness of it.

As for neighbor thing.. So sorry bout that, :( don't take it personal. I deleted all my neighbors several weeks ago as I was trying to handle performance issues with the game. I quite literally started to think I was going to have to pretty much stop playing due to the issues. But last Thursday I basically commandeered my hubby's iPad because I was overjoyed to find his device could handle the item amount of my town! I have since been able to tear down the side farm, and pull out most all my storage items and finish my town. Feel free to send me an invite now that I am back on track! Yay!! I too have always had much admiration for your ideas and the amount of care you put into your town. :D

As this thread has become not only about the sharing of repurposed items, but the sharing of cool ideas, I thought I would show few more things I think are cool in my town. Some of these pics I have posted before, but for those who may not have seen them, figured this was a good place to post them again. :)

Like emmcee, I too have a waterfall, yet it is in a different style. The moment I got the waterfall this is what I did and it has been the remained since.

    vSsWiBql.jpg

I also have built several 3D structures in the past, however they can quickly take up a lot of valuable real estate. But, this is one that has a permanent home in my town because the size is a good proportion. It is part of my industrial district. As well, I enjoyed how I repurposed the SF park entrance to be the entrance for this building. :)

When new items come out, they can sometimes bring out the best in an area. The boardwalk fence brought out the farmer in me. Anyone can be a farmer. :)

    WtDi3eSl.jpg

And lastly, again with the boardwalk fence, I found a combination I really liked specifically with O'Flannigans.

@kittensmittens- whenever I see your name, even though it reads "kittens mittens", I actually always want to call you "smitten kitten". :) Glad I finally got that out of my head - it has been banging around there for awhile. :)

And thanks! I am glad you like my detail combination for O'Flannigans. :)

Any building can look kool ... It's all in the details baby! ;)

This photo was in another post I recently did, but I decided to add it to this thread because it seemed a lot of people really liked it, as well, this thread is bookmarked whereas the other is not.

@hankscorpio - the amusement park concept is a cool idea. Ice cream shop add... good call!
The mini putt and some WD snake flags would probably look good incorporated into it too.
House of evil and Aztec theater could probably also work with it.
It's too bad the basketball hoop game and hot dog, popcorn stand, etc are isolated to boardwalk use only. That would look great there. I was bummed to find out they couldn't be used on the land as I was planning to add them to my mini putt fun park area. (Mini Putt Fun Park pic is found in the first post of this thread.)

    Pharrah, thanks.

I'll very much consider expanding to incorporate mini putt. It would make more sense then the current layout.
(there is one snake flag. If I expand I may add the flags that are currently at the stadiums)

Hoop game would look good there, too bad.

I have seen Bad Dream House turned into a haunted house also. But I don't have any of the Halloween decorations.

I use my telephone booths as a bus stop. Septa baby!! and the boardwalk fences as my emergency ladder on the 3d building.

    photo-9_zpsce7b03aa.png

This next photo I have the phone booths as ticket booths and the parking meters as the things you walk through the counter things in stadiums and in front of the duff car the news paper stands as slot machines to gamble and win the duff car ;) and the bomb shelters are my basement and top entrances employees only!!..hope everyone enjoys

I'm not a fan of 3D effects. I think they look sloppy. If EA meant for us to have football fields and stairs, they would have given us football fields and stairs. But to each his/her own.

I like to create art with decorations. Don't know if that belongs in this discussion?

Perhaps labeling a giant homer, spider pig, cherubs frolicking with birds, yingyang symbol, Pittsburg penguins logo, Canadian flag, skull and cross bones, giant rose, Union Jack, dragons, giant Bart and a bunch of other crap art is a bit of a stretch...

Most of my projects are short lived in my town with limited space. Only my most favorite pieces remain. I'm sure I have posted them a million times so I won't further spam my crap I love here. But here are a few items that lasted no longer than five minutes after they were completed. I present to you a few of my rejects.

Spider pig (I labeled him in game because I was thinking ppl would perhaps not get what I was going for).

Penguins logo that I think may have jinxed them (sorry)

Keys1980, that is some impressive stuff! I love the Spider Pig ( so did my kids).

I am really liking this thread. I wish I knew how to take a screenshot on my tablet to share some of my not-as-impressive-as-y'alls-work-but-stuff-I-am-proud-of things/ideas. I'll have to get onto my phone to take and share pics later.

Thanks, I really loved the logo too. God knows it took forever to make and gave me fits of rage! but after they got swept by Boston it was just a painful reminder and had to go.

    N yes I have many a washing machine :).
