Nanking (2007) A documentary inspired by the writings of the late Iris Chang. It has actors including Woody Harrelson narrating from the writings of the westerners that were present during the rapes and massacres in Nanking during Japan's invasion into China. These westerners, led by a ❤️❤️❤️❤️ representative, played an important role to save the lives of many there and also to record the history.

Black and white preserved footages of event was also shown amid the narrations. The best parts for me were the emotional interviews with the survivors. At times I couldn't hear the narrations of the westerners properly as they spoke rather fast. I generally could decipher UK English better. And there was only Chinese subtitles in the version I watched and it was full of errors.

This is an important documentary for posterity. Till today, Japan still hides the story of WWII in their history books and they also worship the few convicted war criminals in their shrines. And there exists people who still deny about the events of Nanking.

I did hear about Japanese tourists visiting other countries to hear about what their soldiers did during the war to POW's, as it is not taught in Japanese history.

AI Amok (2020). In the not too distant future, AI technology is part of Japan's society. But what happens if it becomes Amok? Quite a big production film but was not thrilling and I did fall asleep a few times.

Survive the Night (2020). Quite a mundane film though the effects of bullet shots are good and looks practical.

Interesting Indie film taking place in a fictional New Mexico town with a nod to the twilight zone
based loosely on a real event that took place an hour out side of Pittsburgh in December 1965.

City of Desire (2001). This HK film centred around Macau, showcasing it's sex and gambling industry. There were supposedly some undercover cam shots of the operations, which indeed looked real. But for a film of this theme, it was disappointing as there was no explicit scenes or the version I watched was censored. The film in its marketing , also misled the viewers that this is a spin off story from the triad, Young and Dangerous series. The lead character has the same name from the series but that was the only relation.

I was in Macau once long time ago, and in broad daylight in an alley I suddenly came across many ladies and one of them, not a beauty, grabbed me by my arms. It took me a few mins to struggle free.

My friend bought some egg tarts and carried it in his hands. Due to this, we were not allowed to enter the Casino. I did see the famous facade of some kind of cathedral there.

Generation War (2013). 3 episodes of 90 min Each. A German mini series that was compared to Band of Brothers. Some viewers even said that it was better than BoB. But after watching it, I feel it nowhere near to BoB in production value. It did have a nice story that propelled me to binge watch it. Overall it is still a good watch, but battle scenes were not the key focus. This drama currently can be found in YouTube.

I don't want to say too much as I went into this film not knowing a thing about it but it's a wonderful hope filled gem full of laughs and tears.

Attack on Titan S1 (2013). 25 episodes of about 20 mins each. Anime based off a manga. I have previously watched the two live action Japanese versions and like it. This is based on a world where humans live behind a 3 walled compound with the innermost walled housing the elites. Human eating giants live outside the walls. This is quite a good anime with good action and good story with possibly social commentaries involved. This anime deserve a big budget Hollywood live action treatment. Imagine having multiple spidermen wielding swords and swinging around slaying giants.

I don't watch a lot of anime. Other anime I had watched include Gantz and recently Ultraman in Netflix. Both are good.

Attack on Titan S2 (2017). 12 episodes of about 21 mins each.

Attack on Titan : No Regrets (2014 - 2015) There was also a episode 0.5 of 40 plus mins in the bundle on the backstory of one of the character Levi. This is also two episodes of the 8 OVA episodes released so far.

Plot became more intriguing and mysterious. I need to supplement my watch by reading the summary of the episodes from the Internet. I was influenced by the anime series as just now I stamped on a small cockroach in the house. Usually I will use a paper towel to grab it and if it is not injured, I would release it out of the window. I gave the cockroach some prayers.

Attack on Titan S3 P1 & 2 (2018 - 2019) 22 episodes of around 21 mins each. Intricate and diverse plotline with a complicated lore. But overall it was a good watch. Final season season coming out in late 2020.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer. TV Series.

Been on E4 since last Monday, missed the start but caught up on catch up.
Had seen it first time round, though I thought I started watching after a number of episodes in, but no, I had seen it from the first episode but not right from the start, so I'm happy I can watch it again and get the episodes I missed.
Although, it does seem a bit more childish than what I remember, but I have always liked Fantasy genre and I like the theme tune, wish the music could have been longer though.

Wow I really like the series. Actually the main draw is the cute actress for me. Whenever the show comes, I would look at the opening theme music to see Buffy gyrating at a club. Once I saw that, my night would be complete and joyous.

But somewhere along the road, I didn't continue as my country tends to have a lag in the broadcast of the latest season and sometimes the shows even completely stops. For example I don't think Simpsons is on our TV anymore. And also all the superheroes series from CW have disappeared, likely due to some of the unwholesome themes in these shows. They would be censored.

Attack on Titan 1 & 2 (2015). Now that I am caught up with the anime and partially the manga, I rewatched the live action versions again. If I am in the shoes of an ardent fan of the manga and anime, I probably would be unhappy with the Japanese films as they totally made a new story and also the choice of a couple of actors didn't gel well too. The characters actually were mostly Europeans based on the storyline and not Japanese.

But they did capture some elements of the anime and the depiction of the titans was good.

If I ignored the manga, the two films are actually quite entertaining. There was also a pretty actress as shown.

Attack on Titans : Counter Rockets (2015)

This is a three episodes series with some of the actors from the live action reprising the same roles. The stories could be treated as the origin stories of a few characters and how the swinging devices came about. It also allowed one of the actress with black belt to show case her fighting skills. Overall it was an above average watch with better than TV production value.

    Supernatural
    Season 1 (2005) 22 episodes
    Season 2 (2006) 22 episodes

Watched a few episodes back in the days. Don't like to watch on public TV then as they like to censor it. Generally, good watch with handsome guy. Also supported with pretty actresses and nice songs.

In episode one there was a song by AC/DC Back in Black when they entered a town of Jericho, it reminded me of the moment in Iron man with his Jericho missiles with the same song.

Taking Chance (2009). A film with quite a few touching moments with a simple premise of showing the procedure of how a fallen soldier is brought home respectfully. Dignified acting from Kevin Bacon.
