G.I. Jane (1997) I was reminded that I have yet to watch this film after 2022's Chris Rock's slapping at the Oscar. I like Demi Moore but I didn't want to see her in such a role. So I watched and it was like watching training montage of Navy Seals. A battle sequence was also pretty bad. I was quite surprised that it was directed by Ridley Scott. My favourite scene was seeing Demi doing push ups. Overall a slightly above average watch.
Kill Boksoon (2023). A Korean thriller about assassins. It gave me vibes of John Wick's universe. Numerous characters' development scenes slowed the momentum though. Overall I would still rate it as a good watch
Coming to America (1988) I was glad I watched this during this era as swearing and nudity would have been censored if I watched it back then. Quite an interesting comedy with awkward scenes, voice actor of Darth Vader speaking like Vader, See You Next Wednesday easter poster from John Landis's films, singing and dancing etc. Quite an abrupt ending though. Overall it was an essential watch for comedy classics
Hawking (2004). This was a made for tv movie. I liked his acting showing his degenerative condition. Physics lovers would probably find the film interesting. A slightly above average watch for me. I do like Physics.
New comedy/drama series about two people who let a road rage incident get out of hand . It wasn't quite what I expected but ended up being better than I thought it would be. A good watch
Hunger (2023). This Thai film has some vibes of The Menu but it was more grounded in reality. Good production and visually appealing. The soundtrack was also spot on and scary most of the time. The drama was very intense but joyless and toxic. Many characters have sullen looking faces. The film was also very long at 2.5 hours. I think I would have a better time rewatching the HK comedy, The God of Cookery. Overall this film was slightly above average for me.
Avatar The Way of Water (2022). Very visually stunning and sound effect was also good. I didn't really like grandma Sigourney Weaver voicing a girl though. Overall a pretty good watch.
Wednesday (2022) Eight episodes. Very engaging drama with very interesting characters. My favourite character is a werewolf girl. The relationships were also very wholesome and there was almost no swearing. A very good watch. Good recommendation @Rhinomix76 !
One of the actors in the drama looks similar to a local actor in my country, Tosh Zhang. Same features but different colour.
Circle Line (2023). This is a significant Singapore mandarin film as it is the first monster film with CGI that was never used before. Its budget was only 2.2M USD though. It tried to be an art house monster film but the plot was undeveloped, almost felt like they had to end it abruptly withou explaining anything. This was also probably why it has a short run time.
I guess this shot was my favourite moment in the film. This used to be a local actress I liked, Jesseca Liu. But she got married and is older now. After this waking up shot, she was fully covered up in long sleeve as seen in the first poster.
I think it would be better to watch Korean films Train to Busan and The Host. This was a very below average film.
The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die (2023) this was the concluding chapter in a film to the long running drama series. I felt it was very rush and I actually could not follow very well, even after I went to watch some recap videos. But an explanation video I watched did help when I finished the film. I also didn't like that Netflix likes to introduce questionable unwholesome relationships. Overall an above average watch though the series were better
The Invasion (2007). I have always liked aliens invasion films. It might have been the third time I watched this over the years. Good watch for me. Interestingly Daniel Craig and the black character Bernard from Westworld were in this film. They were also acting together in James bond.
Antman and the Wasp Quantumania (2023). It was alright. Jonathan Major's acting was good. I preferred the simpler Iron man and Captain America films set in the real world. These days these Marvel films were getting rather messy. An above average watch
A Korean drama set in the midst of Korea's involvement in the Vietnam war. The film was not big on war scenes but production was quite epic. It was about a lady's awakening as she embarked on a trip to look for his husband at war in Vietnam. It has both comedy and serious drama. A good watch.
Ghosted (2023). I actually stopped after 15 minutes to double confirm the genre of the film. In the end it was a fun watch. With handsome Chris and beautiful Ana.
Sissy (2022). The first half of this thriller horror was actually rather long winded and all over the place. But the second half made it up leading to an overall above average watch for me.

Erin Brockovich (2000). Good story telling and it was interesting to see Julia Roberts swearing so much and wearing skimpy outfits. A good watch

A fun but predictable whodunit. Definitely not going to win any awards but still a enjoyable distraction with two likeable leads.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023). It was entertaining though not as fun as the first one. But nevertheless a good watch for me
