Power Rangers Once and Always (2023). This was a one hour special for the 30th anniversary of this franchise. Generally it was a fun watch especially seeing seniors morphing. Some moments were also good enough to stir a bit of emotions. But I don't like Netlfix introducing an unnecessary unwholesome moment in this show that would be watched by children.

Super fun new animated movie based on the classic game. The animation is beautiful and the story moves along at a fast pace. The voice acting is just fine. Lots of easter eggs for longtime fans of the game. Was a bit disappointed by the ending but nonetheless is was a good watch.

I actually never played it properly before. Maybe only once at a friend's house. Never owned a game console during my young days. I played street fighter more though at my friend's house.

Next Sohee (2022). This was a investigative Korean drama that exposed toxic culture in Korea. It was loosely inspired by an actual incident. Although quite long, it was not boring. Overall it was a good watch

    Scream VI (2023).

    A pretty good watch

Season one: Post apocalyptic series about the aftermath of a pandemic and the children/animal hybrids that mysteriously begin being born. Good chemistry between the leads make this a enjoyable watch. Season two just dropped and I'll begin watching it soon.

Whiteout (2009). This thriller was set in Antarctica so it was pretty interesting in terms of production. Also it was nice to see the actress. But the thrill was quite minimal, the climatic action scene in fact could not be seen clearly due to the whiteout. It was a slightly above average watch. It would be better to watch The Thing, a good story set in Antarctica.

Season Two was pretty good as well. Not as good as the first season but a worthy follow up.

New series set in the world of academia starring the great Bob Odenkirk. Very funny, smartly written show that would of been better imo if it were a few episodes shorter but nonetheless a very good watch.

An Eye for an Eye (1990) A HK crime thriller involving the police and triad again. One of the hottest actresses of that era, Joey Wong, played the lead role. It was a decent watch.

RoboGeisha (2009). A Japanese thriller film with mind blowing over the top action sequences. Rewatching this as previously didn't watch the full movie. It was fun and hilarious

Four Brothers (2009). A revenge thriller like a modern western. Very mixed feelings about this. Slightly above average watch

Guy Ritchie's The Covenant (2023). Drama was set in Afghanistan. One action scene was nice but bulk of the film was drama. The almost non stop soundtrack helped to sustain the interest though. It was almost like watching a very long artistic visuals with music. Overall an above average watch.

Parasite (2019) whatever films Song Kang-Ho appears in, it will be a good film. This is another Korean film masterpiece.

I finally got around to seeing this Best Picture winner. Very entertaining and well made film. Quite unique as well. A good watch.

One of those rare Best Pictures that mainstream audience might want to watch. I have not watched many others.

When I watched Parasite, it has not been nominated yet. I watched due to that actor in it.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 (2023). The actions were pretty wild and messy. In fact the girl sitting in front of me started to stare at her phone while my mind drifted off too. The best moments were the story telling, especially the emotionally heart wrenching ones. This was a very long third film at 2.5 hours. I had to go to the toilet in the last 30 minutes but I controlled. Overall I rated this film as a good watch.

I watched at a newly refurbished mall, Balestier Shaw Plaza. This cinema was just opened in May. I was quite surprised to see that the seats were rather tall and I didn't have to slouch to support my neck.

CBl4zUU.jpg Not a very big cinema. It is a Cineplex with a few halls and premium rooms. Only ten people were watching the show on a late afternoon.

The building has some information on the background of the Shaw Brothers, they used to be a giant in the old days, especially in films production.

Antman and the Wasp Quantumania (2023). It was alright. Jonathan Major's acting was good. I preferred the simpler Iron man and Captain America films set in the real world. These days these Marvel films were getting rather messy. An above average watch

Agreed. It was enjoyable but far from great. Better than some of the recent Marvel offerings. I think the cast made up for a average script and made it better

The Mother (2023). I was smiling often as I watched this as I could not imagine auntie Lopez as an action hero. It was quite a standard action thriller, not spectacular. Slightly above average watch for me. My last audio CD bought was Dance Again the hits by Auntie Lopez. After that all the CD shops disappeared in a few years. Quite a nice album.

Sisu (2022). This is a simple war thriller set in Finland. It was fairly slow in the beginning but once action started, it was quite good with violent and visceral scenes. Sometimes I was comparing it with Wolverine. It could have been a good film with a bigger budget. It was an above average watch for me.

Evil Dead Rise (2023). It was a rather dull film for me in terms of plot. In fact not much of a plot and I was more occupied throughout the show wondering if this character called Danny is a male or female. Then another girl dressed like a boy. It did have many good gory effects. Overall an above average watch. The Ash Vs Evil series was a much much better watch.
