I think the rarest (rarest is singular by the way) item in the game would be the second Cletus' Farm. The only one I know of is in one of the lower level "Other Springfields".
I see the donut tree has been used by Simbass such a great pic from back in the day lol I remember when that was 1st posted sooo many people fell for it and wanted it bad!!
I think the rarest item i have is probably the "Duff Racer" it was a limited item that at the moment i dont see returning to the game :P

I have most items mentioned. I was so naive when the Halloween update happened. I did not think the decorations were going to stay around after it ended. I did not buy the Marge skin, the Raven, and I missed out on Kang. I now know the meaning of regret.
Kind of wish I would have got the Fruit Bat Man Skin too.

I'm kind of surprised that those who started playing when it first came out don't have something the rest of us do not have. I guess EA never took anything away when it came back into the App Store in August. All of you that have been playing before August would have one up on us then. Unless that donut tree is really real.
Cool Brown House and the Homer outfit that came with it, Try N Save, Barney's Bowl A Rama, OFlanigans Pub, Howard's Flowers and the ice cream store from Valentines Day. I see the Valentines Day stuff quite a bit though in other people's towns.

Let's don't assume, ok? I started playing in the first week of October and yet didn't join this forum till December because I didn't know it existed and because the climate was different back then and I wasn't sure I wanted to post so I lurked for a long time.
The reason I said that Witch Marge and Mr. Plow are rare because so many didn't want to get them (somebody asked why I listed these and others agreed) is because back then we were pretty opposed to the idea of a skin. Now, I think they are kind of fun and view them as changes of clothing. I have fun trying to decide which "outfit" Homer is going wear. He's been Mr. Plow lately but right now he's Mayan Homer.
Shauna - so many hated her on sight but I let Melody talk me into getting her and I don't regret it for a minute. I think she's kind of cool and since I never have the volume turned on (that repetitive music! SO ANNOYING!!!) I could care less if she is voiced or not. Teasing the ducks is such a funny task.
rarest item...there are actually two in my opinion... 1) 30 Donuts in the Mystery Box and 2) $200,000 in the Dog Races...But all kidding aside...i agree with most....Witch Marge, Kang, Fruit Batman, Shauna and the Duff Racer...I am happy to say I have the Duff Racer and Shauna...but I missed Witch Marge, Kang and Fruit Batman...NOT BY CHOICE :?
The talk of rare items made me think about something I have noticed during my travels on the internet. Since computers and the internet have become ubiquitous, people have put a high value on pixels. This value extends beyond the wallet with many people having an attachment to their pixels. They are crushed emotionally if they lose them or if someone steals them. I played WoW for 5 years and I have witnessed people actually cry when their account was hacked. :shock:
Back in the early 90's, I was a member of the very first virtual online forum. It was called World's Away. You existed in the world as an animated avatar. The animation was sooooo basic. There were a choice of heads available, vending machines with new and rare items. I had a collection of one copy only heads and was well known for this. I constantly had strangers seek me out and ask me to show them my collection of one of kind heads. lol All because of pixels.
You could rent a apartment and decorate it with the items you bought. People loved to show off their work and compare 3D effects. Some things never change eh? The animation was so basic, with 9 frozen facial expressions for your head that made your avatar look odd. The 8 meg file needed to install and access the world took over 12 hours download. lol
Anyway, my point is, even back then, people loved their pixels. It's a quirk of the internet that's always fascinated me. I don't think I'll ever fully understand why human nature has a love affair with the pixel.
