Once Upon A Time...
We had spectacular events. We joined together as a community to earn special prizes. We all freaked out that they were unachievable and EA always gave us a somewhat last minute update so we could win each and every awesome prize.
Once upon a time we had great fun visiting our neighbors and helping them with each event. Leaving eggs, presents, protecting them from super villains.
Once upon a time the events were so big and filled with so many layers. Remember the Terwilliger’s? We couldn’t get through an event without the help of many on the forum.
I never thought I would say this, but I miss crafting. I miss the in-depth forum conversations and strategy talk. I think the xp collider was a mistake. I think EA should have done more to shutdown the reddit people. I think this is our fault. How many actually buy donuts. Is it all KEM farming? I still buy donuts each event because I want the game to continue. I used to play everyday. Even when I was in the hospital. I loved it that much. I couldn’t wait for LPN to post what buildings/decorations were coming so I could start planning my designs. But now? I haven’t designed in over a year. I haven’t opened my game in 7 days. I’m sad. I began abandoning my town because life got busy. But there’s been nothing exciting to bring me back. I’ll continue playing until the end. Hopefully something exciting will happen to spark my creativity and begin designing again.

Not much fun now.
One day they will pull the plug and all there will be is town portraits.
Once upon a time we were more enthusiastic because our desires were being met. Slowly over time, EA stopped meeting them. (boo)
But we don't need them to do much more than keep the game from constantly crashing. Because the fun of the game is still within US. I've committed to redesigning my whole town. I'm not nuking, but I am deleting huge swatches and reconfiguring the entire city.
I've started by deleting everything I don't like. Opening huge pieces of fresh grass is refreshing. I'm deleting all things except the buildings. I anticipate using far fewer trees and trimmings. My overhaul is beginning with an all new SF Heights. I'm removing the business district and making it all mostly upscale residential, except for a smaller, boutique shopping area.
Then I'm going to redo the entire coastline of SF, all new Squidport and reconfigure the water-specific items. Once that is done, I'll tackle the big redo of all SF.
I've made a list of all the districts I plan to build. Now I'm in the process of sorting all the buildings to fit them. Some of the new districts will be:
Casino
Outlands
Barrio
Gentrified coastal
Mid century coastal
Big Box Row
Ski/winter resort
Capital city financial
Burning man
Stadium park
Rural SF
Vampire village
Santa village
Castle row
- plus reconfigs of all the usual areas like the dump and industrial zone, airport, Press board Estates, etc. Only my Town Square and KL will remain the same. But I'm moving the Town Square out further into the center of the grid.
This is a huge undertaking, and it's scary deleting old designs that have been on the map since forever. But change is good, and agility is our best attribute. We must adapt to the new pace of the game if we want to keep enjoying it.
So, less waiting on EA to entertain us, more looking into our own imagination to conjure new challenges.
I stopped in to share this optimism with @happyone2323 and @TwigletStyx, but it is for anyone who wants to take charge of your experience within the game. There's plenty to do if you want to.
Hello and happy new year to my neighbors! Thank you for continuing to visit me; it's ALWAYS a welcome joy to see your names floating up from a batch of new handshakes. You folks are always welcome in my SF. I miss you all. Sorry I haven't made a fun contest for us in a while. "Once upon" WERE some good ol' times. Take care xoxo!

My point of what I have just said above (despite it being rather boring that let's just face it, no one cares, which is why it's quite short), life always changes. At points in life there will always be something fun, when life changes try and enjoy the change in life, remember the fun you had but believe there will be fun in the future. Sometimes you have to make your own fun.........like now for example, as I type this I have absolutely no idea where I am going with this, so this comment could turn out to be completely pointless, greatly insightful (I highly doubt that) or yeah a complete waste of what 2 or 3 minutes of your life.....I still don't know where I am going with this.
How do you know that people are still excited?
😃 I'm so happy to see you posting again! @4junk3000
Nice to see a post from one of the old regulars, I'm also redesigning areas I've never been really happy with but would never hit the nuke button as the inventory system is so bad I don't think I'd ever find anything again, but my one wish would be for the expansion of the Springfield Heights land area as I've got so many designs in my head for that area but they simply don't fit in the available space (although deep down I honestly don't expect that area to be expanded), ah well such a shame.
🌈Ditto, aside from lack of any minimal ITEM LIMIT INCREASES💩
What was this drama about?

They might not be visiting because they have nothing to tap in your town
Most likely Reddit's *Free Donuts* from a few years ago, although @happyone2323 may be referring to something else? @woyaodabian
Alright, i'll have a read. Thanks!
Oh, i see. Thanks!
Hi, I'm personally suffering from the nothing to tap bug as my wife, and eldest both play the game and when they visit they see nothing available to tap even though I have hundreds of buildings that are tappable the only thing they can tap is the graffiti buildings, when I visit my wife everything is fine but visiting my eldest I too can see nothing in their Springfield tappable, hopefully they will eventually fix the issue but suspect that it isn't a priority ( as in don't expect anything soon ) because they don't seem to be either able to or know how to fix a rather nasty glitch that has been around over 2 years and breaks multiple parts of the game.
If crafting is no longer available at least expand the store and sell us old craftables.
I wouldn't mind if it was for igc or doughnuts.
Could even add them to the vault rotation.
