Zooming issue

I know this has been posted before, but customer support asked me to post again!

I have a Samsung S10. I can't zoom out properly. The Game tuning app mentioned by some people does not exist any more.

Now, the interesting thing is that after contacting customer support about a different issue all of a sudden zooming out worked! I wonder whether they changed some setting when they accessed my account. However, they had to access it again and all reverted to how it was, i.e. I can't zoom out again.

Very grateful if anyone has any solution... or if EA finally fix this issue!

  • I don’t have any helpful advise over this issue and someone might help @Muhsterino @1EllieG7294.

EA are known to tell people to post on here as they can’t be bothered to deal with you so just keep pestering them and you’ll get a decent person to help.

OP has already started another thread recently about the same issue, in which I posted similar thread titles. I only use an Apple device, so have no solutions to offer.

    @Muhsterino sorry I didn’t know.
No problem, it would have been more useful if OP had added to the previous thread, instead of starting a new one, not your fault. :)

  • Apologies, Musterinho. Support pretty much told me to post again. I did comment that my problem had been posted before.

As @tstonumberonefan posted above, some EA reps who cannot or will not help will say to ‘post on the forum’ so they can get rid of you. This has been going on for years, especially during the glitch :(

  • I have persisted in replying to customer support. I got this reply:

Thank you for contacting EA help. My name is Himachal and I would assist you with your The Simpsons: Tapped Out issue today.

I hope you are doing well. Having reviewed your case and found that you're not able to zoom out the screen on Samsung S10 device. I can feel the disappointment caused due to this issue. You do not need to worry, I'll surely do my best to help you with it.

To fix this issue, I would suggest you to follow the below listed steps and let us know the outcome.

    - Go to android display settings
    - Set screen resolution to minimal.
    - Restart the game
    - Game will download again all image files, now for correct resolution.

I believe performing the steps should fix the issue for you. I appreciate for your patience and understanding on this matter.

It did indeed work, by downloading 1.8 GB of new files. However, on changing the resolution back, (unsurprisingly) the issue reappeared (again, by downloading the amount above). Obviously I do not want to keep my phone on the lowest resolution.

I therefore installed Samsung Game launcher. In the Game launcher, I activated Game Plugins (icon next to the settings icon on the top right corner of the Game launcher screen that is activated by sliding the edge). In Game Plugins, I went to Game booster plus. First I tried battery saving, then Max FPS. Finally, on selecting "High quality" zooming out worked! I would post an image of how to get to Game Plugins, but there doesn't seem to be an option to edit posts and add images...

Hope this might help other people with a Samsung device.
