Forum problems

Difficult to know where to post this! But let's give it a try.

My problem isn't with the game, it's with the forums. Despite having checked the options for email notifications for my threads, the discussions I have contributed to and now even bookmarked threads, I am not receiving any email notifications when replies take place.

I wonder if any moderator can look into this or come up with a solution please?

I think the forum is having issues. It says I haven't been active on the forum since May 13. I come here almost every day
@johncolombo or @Deadshot_DCU can you please take a look

Anyone? Any of the moderators seen this? Not sure how else to raise this issue, there doesn't seem to be any support for the forum?

It is rather annoying that all of a sudden I fail to get any notifications despite my preferences being correct...

@DocBingoBongo You could PM one of the mods so they can pass on the problem for someone to look into it, add a link to this thread when you do so.

Just to add a couple of other minor forum quirks:
I received 500 badge, whereas it still says 499.

When I try to look at a particular badge I get this message:

Something I had a couple of days ago and didn't think much of it, but it has done it again just now.

I have been logged in, but when I go to logout, it asks me to Sign In.

Just remembered another problem, but then it has just done it again anyway.
I'm in Game Discussion, for example, and I see there is "New" comment on a number of threads.
I go into a thread, but when I come out of the thread, all the "New" icons are gone from all of the threads.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for bringing these issues with the forums to our attention. Let's try to find out what's going on:

• No email notifications:
  First thing to check here would be if these emails are ending up on your email spam folder for some reason. @DocBingoBongo, could you look for them in there?
  If they are nowhere to be found, could you share a few links to posts or DMs for which you didn't receive an email notification with us so we can investigate? The more recent the examples the better
  Also, are you getting the notifications for these here on the forums?
• Incorrect Last Active date:
  We will look into it. Do you use the forums on mobile, desktop or both, @1EllieG7294?
• 500 insightful badge at 499:
  I suspect this one was caused by someone marking one of your posts as 'Insightful', and then removing the reaction @Muhsterino.
• Permission problem when checking badge pages:
  This should be fixed now.
• Permission problem when trying to access a post that has been removed:
  This one is normal behaviour
• Getting the option to 'Sign in' when you are already signed in / the forum considering you are not signed in:
  We are looking into this.
• 'New' tags disappearing for all threads after reading one:
  @KLmaker have you noticed if this happens at the same time you see the 'Sign in' option in the menu? If the forum is not properly aware you are logged in, that would explain why 'New' tags are not displayed.

Hopefully I didn't miss anything, please let me know if so!

I didn't get any notifications for any of my threads (feel free to search for them in the discussions forum). Very strangely, however, I have now been getting random notifications in random order for these threads.

For example, yesterday (8 June) I received a notification for KLmaker's post in the "What was in your last mystery box" thread in general discussion. However, this was posted on 5 June.

It seems like all the notifications got stuck somewhere and now they are slowly and randomly coming out...

Just as an update, today I received a notification dated 07/06 on a post by frosted1414 in the thread "what was in your last mystery box".

Previously, I really wasn't sure, but now I would say "Yes".

I have just been going backwards and forwards in Game Discussion looking at new threads and it did it again.
There were I think 3 or 4 threads with "New", looked at a couple and when I came back, the thread "Heights" was clear, even though I knew I hadn't looked at it.
I scrolled and the black bar came up at the bottom of the screen and it had Sign In.

Thanks for confirming @KLmaker - in that case fixing the 'Sign in' issue (we are currently working on that) should fix this one as well.

@DocBingoBongo - have you noticed any improvements when it comes to email notifications in the last few days?
