I personally don't like the new icons, I think that smiling face looks creepy as hell.

I prefer the old Bart silhouette rather than this new icon tbh.

I have it and wondered what was going on too.
I can't see what is the point of it myself.
And I don't like the look of it either.

I play on 2 IPADs,have the original Bart silhouette on one & the creepy one on the other.

Creepy face is not my favourite!

I do have the event on both but had to download the event on each separately (usually if I download events on one it carries over to the other).

Now that is weird on both counts.

And, I had to download it as well, I never have to download, I just let it do it itself.
But it wasn't in the App Store Wednesday night, but it was on the Thursday.

I had to refresh the app store on my Kindle Fire to get the update (which is complicated). On an iPad you just pull down from the top of the screen and it refreshes the app update list.

I have absolutely no idea what you just said, but then it's not my iPad so not surprising really.
Went into App Store > Updates, saw TSTO, tapped it.
It was in Thursday but not Wednesday, so if it does it again... I swipe down on Updates?... Yes?

Yes. App Store -> Updates -> be at the top of the page, swipe down. Don't swipe down at the very tip top of the page though, you'll just pull the Notification Center down. Just stick your finger somewhere on the page and swipe down. A swirly thing will appear and it will update. I wish it was that easy on a Fire.

Lucky you. I usually just go to the app updater, but for some reason it refused to show the update this time. And the store didn't show the update either. I had to go into the tablet preferences and force an update so I could get it.

I have done that from the very tip top, it's annoying when I do.
