That ain't so bad, it's not that late.

Do you remember a, (largely courtroom drama), TV series called Murder One???
It started before the 1996 Olympics from Atlanta.

The series was not that well liked in the states and went through a number of re-writes while the series was being broadcast.
While over here, apparently, we got a refined version as it had already been corrected from the states.

We had a one hour weekly episode, but it was screened on the BBC, so someone was bound to mess it up, and they did.

As an episode finished an announcer said, Due to the Olympic Games Murder One would be taken off the air to make room for sport, and Eastenders would have an extra half hour episode a week.

Yeah, the maths and reasoning do not add up there.

There was uproar, Americans couldn't understand what the fuss was about as the series was not that well liked, apparently it was even broadcast on your news.

Eastenders is a sad, depressing soap opera for emotional vampires who don't have enough sadness in their lives and is based in London's East End, and always has really bad stuff going on, (and bad acting), and sometimes it goes over the top in a vain attempt to try and look exciting and grab the viewers in.
They tried to sell it too Australia, but they sent it back after a week as it was too depressing. Good for them.

As a result, the BBC screened a special during the Olympics, which was more than one episode strung together, on average it worked out at less than one hour a week when they could have just put it back to how it was before.

And of course, why increase a crappy soap opera.

So you haven't got it too bad.
