Black Friday 2020
Purchasing 12 donuts/5 tokens gets you Homerland Bundle, a further 7 donuts The **** Tubery and so forth.
Does anyone know what happens if someone buys a certain number of donuts (e.g. 60/132/300) straight away? Do you just get the Homerland Bundle and do you then have to make another purchase of donuts for The **** Tubery, or do they carry over and you get all in one go?

Example : Buy 900 Ds and get 25 tokens in the bundle and all the prizes in one go.
For clarity - You'd need to buy a bigger bundle to get what is described above. $1.99 for 12 Ds only comes with 1 token and 5 prize tokens, and you can only get them once. Buy a second lot of 12 Ds and it will count up on the prize track but does not include any tokens.
Got you. So the purchased donut count is cumulative, not a different count for each step luckily...!
The three new items in that bundle each have a 2.5% bonus, I also got Fort Adventure in my little town with that lot, but it's just an expensive deccy that's priced at $125k IGC
Been a year of stacking donuts, nothing to buy with them really..
But EA thinks sure- they're desperate for new stuff, they'll spend the $100
And not for nothing, the Catfish Lake and General Sherman task for Homer has now become my favorite.
One of looking at it. Another way would be that a couple of items that previously cost a lot more than $2-3 are now attainable - for those players who have everything else - for the price of the smallest batch of donuts.
In other words, freemium players who’ve patiently amassed donuts through farming, allowing them to clear out the Yearbook, are offered up Costmo and the Donut Factory for a couple of tokens that come with a box of premium donuts.
I can’t afford to get the remaining prizetrack, but to come away from the event with those two items for minimum spend is awesome. Players like @stevieort who keep the game going with their purchases deserve to have game items that are kinda unique and special imo... and by keeping the game going, we freemium players can potentially get them in a year or two for much less 🍻
I've been trying for 2 days now to purchase the 900 donuts pack to get all the items (don't need the donuts but like the items) and to support the game for the many hours of entertainment I have got from it but something is messed up with the game for me as when I tap the link to purchase I get "You already own this item", hopefully EA support will sort it before the end of the event.
Except... you only get tokens for the first donut buy, not after. So mathematically, unless I overspend and get the $100 deal, I can’t get enough tokens to unlock everything.
... that’s not a good business model, EA. If you want people to try and unlock everything AND spend money, you should provide the opportunities to do so. Otherwise, people spend LESS, not more.
Yes, some things are really cool, and most of the premium stuff helps you earn in game faster, but the world won't stop spinning if you have no money or no desire to buy the digital baubles on offer.
Playing for free and never spending is fine, but buy what you can if you really want it and can afford it and those few extra sprinkles and tokens for cash help keep paying for the programmers who write the game.
Maybe I didn’t make my point well. I’m totally happy getting what I can with my remaining tokens, I’m just surprised you can only get tokens one time per individual donut buy. That seems limiting by EA is all. But it’s fine, I’ll get what I can and be content.
A lot of stuff in the gold box are also in other Black friday boxes and even in the Yearbook. See here: https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/266353/2020-mystery-boxes-analyzed
Good news - have 80% of the list already. Truth is I’m probably just being sulky for no good reason. I’ve only used 20 tokens so far and I’m already Re-working my town. It’ll be fine. No real complaints, just the collector in me who wants it all.
Oh yeah forgot those 😂 but it just doesnt feel like Thanksgiving without Gils offer
Same reason I do it my friend. This is the only mobile game I play and the only one I have played everyday consistently since March 2012 (day 1 player here). Gotta support the devs so they can continue this game going
