As a less-than-a-year-long player, I haven't experienced a Tapped Out Christmas before. I wonder, should I save up donuts/donuts-for-real-cash-purchases for any Christmas events?

I'm quite tempted to buy donuts to get tokens for the golden mystery box, but just wondering if there usually are some ginormous deals at Christmas that might have to be bought with the same money?

I can't remember last Christmas, do I think I remember being less than satisfied or criticisms from others who felt the same, um, maybe, but it is a new year, so to speak, Halloween was considerably different last year for example, I go by save as much as possible and only buy if you really really want it.

I think if you're planning to buy donuts anyway now is the time to do it. The tokens and incentive items are a huge bonus for newer players and I don't remember any deal as good during Christmas.

I'll tell you what I told my kids when they pester me about Christmas presents: "We're in lock down 2.0, Santa's in the highest risk category due to his extreme age. He's got to stay home to stay safe, self-isolate and can't come into our house even down the chimney cos he's not in our support bubble. Therefore Christmas is cancelled! "

In other words, what I'm saying is: When you see something that you want, get it straight away cos you don't know what the future will bring.

The answer is yes and no. Black Friday offers are usually great ways to catch up on what you have missed if you are either new or just coming back. The Christmas holiday will inevitably offer SOME, but not all, past Christmas characters, buildings and decors in addition to the new. You’ll see the same for Valentine’s, 4th of July and especially Halloween. My advice: get what you can afford now while saving as many donuts as you can. Come December 3rd, you’ll thank me.

Thank you all. My concern really was with regard to spending real money to buy gold tokens and (maybe more importantly) to get the special items from the quest (catfish lake etc) even though they do not seem exceedingly special... I am slightly worried that at Christmas they might offer some other outstandingly exciting deal in exchange for real money (which I would not want to spend again, I don't normally spend money on free games but I might make an exception this time round, but not twice!).

Luckily I have worked out that with 900 donuts I can buy everything left from the Alter Ego and Bronze boxes (I have already cleared the Creature boxes), and I won't touch the other boxes as there is so much stuff I can get for 30 donuts from the Yearbook mystery boxes. I make about 75 donuts per day KEM farming, so I hope I will replenish my stores quickly!
