I just got notified that I received my 6 year anniversary badge. I have seen a great many new players on the forum so thought maybe some of us old timers could give them some chuckles about the early days of the game.

I can start. My first house farm was 6 brown houses. It took hours to save up enough to buy them, and they were a go to when needing to buy decorations. Tap on Simpsons house, Kwik E Mart, Krusty's and the 6 houses. A 4 min cycle. Repeat over and over until you could buy a tree. Then repeat. Not for hours but for days. We had months between levels so we could grind.
Unsolicited friends requests are all denied. Please PM me.

  • I still have my original 12 Brown Houses but they have been progressively moved further and further to the far eastern edge of town. That little neighborhood supported all the successive purchases for months and still pays off every day. Homer's house, Ned's and the Millhouse residence are in the same place where I started the game many years ago and will never be moved. My monorail is now four separate sections - each of which is something around an 8 minute ride and I have over 5000 rail sections in storage. And yes, I still dabble with TSTO several times a day. What else do I have to do at 74, eh? Thank you EA for the years of (sometimes) exciting game play.

  • After reading the posts I went to check how long I had been on the forum. Was surprised to see I had my 7th anniversary badge in August. I remember the first event I played was Whacking Day. Searching my town for snakes. Was a lot easier than it would be now as my town was quite small.
  • Just got my 8th anniversary badge in October and was quite surprised that its been so long since this game has come out and still going. A lot more fun back in the old days then it is today.
    Here have a banana!!

My 8th anniversary badge is coming up in February :o:)
My first Memory of the game was frantically trying to get Edna and her apartment building during the first Christmas event so I could get the X-mas lights for her building. Sadly I did not get her lights till the following Christmas. What did we have, like 10 characters back then? :D

  • Just checked and I have a 7 year anniversary badge haha... I got it in June :)
    Username: KidHawley
  • I started playing around July 4, 2014, but didn't join the forum until August 2015. So for me its a forum anniversary, not a game play anniversary.
My town 5/13/20: https://i.imgur.com/GHOIICG.jpg. I accept most neighbor requests.
  • Hey, old timers, remember the Harp of Doom glitch? That was fun...
  • I just checked out my account after a few years and found out someone has been using it and getting warnings from the mods; fun! I started playing in in July 2013.

Yes I do along with a few other game breakers.
  • I got my 6 year badge in August. Lots of farming and grafting has got me most of what I wanted. I still enjoy it enough to keep going for more. I was playing the game for a bit before I discovered this forum however as I think my first big event was Whacking Day which was longer ago.
  • I joined at the start of Whacking Day. That event is my favorite. I miss the interaction of visiting neighbors towns to either leave or search for items. The game used to be a lot more fun and more challenging. You really had to work hard to finish the challenges on time. I still play every day, but only visit a few neighbors, because I know where the buildings are that I can tap to graffiti. Haven't been able to leave handshakes for a long time now.

    +1
But Whacking Day was in April-May 2013, when I joined.

stackable thumbs was fun too. We used to put markers for people to tap the right things so we'd get the multiple points and bonus. I can't even remember how that worked now. Did it release one at a time? The trick was not to clear them all.

    Me too.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.
  • I get my 8 year badge in 10 days... I really can't believe I have put up with the game for this long

one at a time. you were to always leave at minimum 1. than you could for example get over the limit boardwalk tiles.
  • Stealing your friends Lemon Tree
  • Been here since the beginning. Game released on March 1st 2012 in the US App Store. I downloaded it that same day. It was released in the middle of February to other countries first. Fast forward to today, I have played pretty much every single day.

Back then there was only 20 levels and that’s it. Game was removed from the App Store 2 days after it was released on March 3rd, so literally only few people had the game. And there was no updates at all. I remember thinking to myself “I really hope they update this game to add more content”. The forum back then was pretty dead. You could go into neighbors towns and steal their Lemon Trees. This item was really rare back then. So a lot of had to either hide it or store it. Eventually the feature was removed. After months and months, the game returned back to the App Store middle/end of August 2012. First content update was Level 21 on September 21, followed by the first ever Episode Tie-in on September 28 & lastly the first ever major event on October 3rd (Treehouse of Horror XXIII)
  • I remember that back then if I accidentally clicked rush for tasks for donuts, my face would turn white due to how sacred and scarce donuts were. And there was no cancel button for rushing tasks.

Remember that time well, donuts were a scarce commodity back then, very difficult to get for free.
