I wonder if they will add tasks for April around tax time. I know there was an episode about the taxes how flanders does them Jan 1st, where homer gets them in just before midnight April 15th? Just an idea.

Ralphie needs to be introduced, and Valentine's would be the perfect time since it is his most memorable episode.
It does drive me slightly nutty that there are no tasks associated to the Post Office. The only rationale I can think of is that they do want to do a small story with it and want to make sure that most players have already built it.
Of course, that might be giving EA too much credit for long term planning.
There are so many more creative task ideas floating around this forum than EA could ever come up with. They should listen!! (Post Office Valentines is brilliant).
I still think that the lack of tasks associated with the Post Office is conspicuous and suspicious. My personal favourite theory is that they'll use it to introduce an in-game messaging system, which is sorely needed. The Valentines idea is a good one too.

I just worry about the kind of drag on the servers such a system might have. If they're wonky now, how much wonkier could they be if there were millions or billions of messages going?

I don't think it would introduce much more of a strain than they currently get to be honest.
Being able to leave notes in a friend's town seems like such a natural feature for the game, I'm sure they're going to try and do something with it in future, at least I hope they do. The PO just seems like the perfect opportunity for it.

I agree with that in game messaging, though the logistics are well beyond my comprehension. My first aha moment was thinking how cool it would be to send donuts to players via the Post Office. Maybe The First Bank of Springfield Bank (ps, i dont know if that's a real thing) will handle that.

Funny but the game has no Harvest or Thanksgiving updates aside from inflatable balloons. The update was weak but still keeps a worldwide appeal.
...and there's a picture of a train!
that is actually a great idea! and one of the tasks is lisa breaks his heart :-(
Thanks. It writes itself, doesn't it? Millhouse gets jealous...
