😏Well, not gonna rant too much this year, but can’t help but give EA a bit of grief on not properly continuing the accurate friggin Winter Season❄️

…I’ve made plenty lengthy annual creative dissertations with Mr Cosington style blusters on the foolish inappropriateness of cutting the Winter season so short after only a few friggin weeks⚠️

It simply does not & should not end so darn soon & Mother Nature even further clarified things with the magnificent storm in New England☃️👌

To be fair we did have 8 weeks of snow this year in the game from December to February while the last few years we've had about 5 to 6 weeks of snow.

It would be great if EA released a permanent snow as another pavement and dirt tile to go with the ice tiles since a lot of the Christmas items look better with snow and ice than grass.

Another winter themed rant, since an update allowed the Snow Bank to go on ice, there should be another update released to allow the Igloo Mansion to go on ice.

They need to re release the ice tiles AND IT NEEDS TO ACTUALLY SNOW NEXT YEAR

Riiight, well it's summer where I live and I had to endure snow in my town without a weird rant.

That said, I could do with some more ice tiles.

It does seem crazy that they've gone to the time, trouble & expense of coding a snow covered appearance for every single item in the game only to use them for a few weeks every year.
I know that lot of you will disagree with me but I would personally be happy to forgo snow altogether in exchange for a night-time mode where all the buildings could be lit up from within, larger decorations could be floodlit and streetlamps could be used to provide illumination elsewhere.
Imagine the extra design possibilities and challenges that would bring to the game, and the whole thing could be tied in to the digital clock tower that already detects your local time, that way the second appearance would get used roughly 50%of the time instead of the current 10-15%.
I know, I'm dreaming, but wouldn't that be something.?

The Igloo Mansion cannot go on Ice Tiles, well that's ruddy stupid, especially as I was going to do just that with other snow and ice decos.

I also want the Waterslide Tree to be able to go on water, I really want it to look like it's surrounded by Boardwalk, but it will not go on water or the Squidport, but it will on grass and the like.

Seem to recall a huge discussion about this some years ago and think that it was LPN (although I could be wrong about who it was) saying that to implement it would require you to download a event size update every time you switch between day and night so would be rather impractical.

The snow is cool for like 3 days, but it actively hurts the city building aspects of the game. I hate having October-February with dead trees

I'm pretty sure the first time we got snow (December 2012) they kept things snowy for maybe 4 months? It was way longer the first time. Also back then we had less content. Going forward in the game everything was designed regular plus snow. I do remember everyone complaining about the snow going on to long back in 2013. Side note I started playing mid to end November 2012 so basically I had no clue what anything looked like because it was covered in snow for so long.

YES!!!!!

I’ve thought this since day one. I used to mention it on the forums all the time back in the day... Would love to see a night mode. Would look amazing with some of the building lit up!

They can do it based on the time on your phone. Which would make the game immersive they can also add sunrise and sunset.
