I'd typed my first response but not posted, and almost deleted it when a notification came up about a post on the Gingerbread . . glitch thread. I read that and decided to post anyway.
I also kept checking, they were online for at least another half an hour after I posted, but neither responded nor trolled any other threads. That last made it seem worthwhile even if I'm not proud of it.
I'd also like to add that while I have an insane amount of donuts, and even my little town has a five figure count ( I've demolished the bonus in that game already, not going daft ) I do intend to spend what I can when I can to support the game and keep it going.
I'm having the same problem, inactive email and I don't remember what information I gave 10 years ago when I started the account. Why can't I just log in with my email and password? Why this log in code? Does anyone at EA read this Forum? Please change this format and lose the log in code. I want to be able to log in with my user and password.

Amen, brother. But sadly, EA has proven to suck immensely, so don’t hold your breath. Even they read the forum, they don’t care.
I had a similar problem, got a code but it would not verify. 1-Graham-S, another member, suggested to enter your email only in lower case letters and that worked. Maybe try that
Well, the code they sent me today on my umpteenth try to get in finally worked. Instead of putting me into the endless loop it finally let me into my town. Happy I can play again, but still not happy I missed two thirds of the last event. I kind of wanted that rack of pigs.
Can’t find your code? Check your email on every device you own. Went through all the ones I own finally found it! Went back, it was now miraculously on all of them.
@spyder1952850 - there should be something along the lines of Sync Now on your email app that makes it go check for new messages - and save you a moment of panic !!
I was back, aaanndd...... gone! The code worked for me finally after the update, i played with the second city, spent half my donuts to finish the earlier event, all good. Today I got back to the first town to start this new event, everything ok. When I tried to login with the second town again... same old problem, invalid code! I give up!

Type your email in ALL CAPITALS and get an invalid code then type your email in all lower case and request a new code and the new code works

If you have family play this game make sure you know their details to the game not only that but their email and email password too. I’m saying this just incase a family member passes away and you won’t be able to do anything to their towns when they pass away. Fortunately for me I was able to do so for Davo before the current system came into force.

I changed my email 3 times, and now realize it´s an account problem. not an email problem.
