Is this problem only affecting people with multiple towns? I haven't had any of this code issue...yet lol
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
  • @4junk3000 - not necessarily.
Sometimes the game logs you out at random, That happened to my B town. Yes I play 2 towns, but on 2 separate devices so I don't have to keep logging in.
it also hit someone who got a phone upgrade.
Ticking time bomb for anyone, even if you've been lucky so far.

  • After repeatedly going back and forth from email to the game I was ready to say unkind words to EA, then realized that I had to access email on a different device. If you try to flip back and forth, the code they send you won’t work.
My bigger problem is I can’t get into one email account, I hadn’t accessed it in a while so the closed it. That town will probably die now.

I have the same issue with two of my towns with closed emails

I’m in the same boat. Pretty much a daily player for 9+ years, a little less lately due to the events being structured identically, but no way for me to access my sign in email any longer.

I don’t see this being good.

    I’m not starting over.

I'm exactly the same as you! Email address is closed, unable to get the verification code. EAs so called technical support are useless too & unable to sort it!

Over 9 years of daily play & over $60 spent on buying donuts down the pan!

Pissed doesn't begin to cover it!! 😒

If you have only one town and don’t sign out, then there’s not a problem. If you sign out and try to sign in again you’ll get the code. My advice, don’t sign out.
  • @dusty7166 - not guaranteed I'm afraid.
I never sign out but last week I fired up my game to discover I needed to log in thanks to some EA hiccup that is not uncommon signing me out at random. Had no end of invalid codes to contend with too :(
Oddly the final attempt began with the Bart screen and when that cleared I was back tapping !?!
PS- if you keep getting invalid codes make sure you use all lower case when you type your email and that it is the email you used to use with your password to log-in for your game

  • Right now there seems to be three basic types of problem.

Players with active emails getting invalid codes

    - make sure you use all lower case when you type your email

Players with active emails not receiving any codes

    - I don't know for sure, but I believe there will be an update out tomorrow that hopes to have fixed this and maybe the case sensitive problem mentioned above

    Players with inactive emails

    - you will need to contact EA Help and convince them it is your account and get them to change your email

If any of the EA team are reading, you really need to improve the help with dead email addresses.

Ask security questions that tappers can answer rather than questions suited to console players buying high-end games.

Too many long-term honest players have been locked out due to this change.

Omg I can't stop laughing. $60 whole dollars. I have spent thousands on this game since 2012. Thanks for the laugh

You spent thousands when others learned how to pretty much get it all for free ?!?
Pretty sure it's EA's bankers and most of the other players here who'll be laughing

Perhaps @Snakeyees would like to take a moment to look at my post from around last halloween. https://forums.ea.com/en/the-simpsons-tapped-out/discussion/comment/2169257#Comment_2169257
I've spent maybe $200 and the rest is good honest tapping. Let me know when you catch up.

    Happy tapping !

I think we should appreciate everyone who spends money on the game, whether it's a little or a lot. It's the only way it's carrying on.

Hi! For several years, this game kept me busy and occupied a for a LOT of hours. I ran three very active towns (and several totally freemium feeder towns). There were no TV series that interested me, and passive entertainment bored me.

This used to be a VERY social app. (Sadly, that aspect is now gone.)

EA is a business. If a product is not making moola, a company pulls it from their store. Unfortunately, Capitalism works that way.

Since I relied on the game for hours of enjoyment, for several years, and realized I was fortunate enough to be able to help keep it profitable, I decided on $1 per day total.

So do the math. Adding up all those tiny amounts over several hundred days, I spent a whole *bunch* of money on 3 active towns, decorating and playing. For years.

I totally agree BTW, that EA was laughing all the way to the bank. Corporations are, by their very nature, greedy. They're not handing out a freemium game to be humanitarian. 😁

Good job making fun of someone for spending money on a game they enjoy. KEM farming was not available at the beginning and for a long time so if you wanted something you bought it with real cash purchased donuts.
The people who actually spend money on this game are the ones to thank for actually keeping it alive this long.

Do you happen to recall what methods there were to earn donuts without money? I know that Maggie game didn't come along for ages and donuts were never a prize in Daily tasks. It took a long time to level-up (for one donut payout) because there were so few tasked characters, and special events weren't multi-stages with numerous freemium characters to "win".

It was almost impossible to buy any premium items to raise the whatchamacallit multiplier.

And they SURE didn't have the maximum game level with 3 donuts every time we level up!

Or that Super Collider for free! THAT item is what proves, in MY opinion, that EA decided to give out more donuts to freemium players. As a teaser. Once a player gets a few premium characters, it's a LOT easier to tempt them to buy more.

The IRS building, too, convinces me they want to keep players involved.

Now that there are hundreds of characters, it's so much easier to make money.

They used to be very, very stingy giving out donuts, right?

If they did NOT want long-timers to farm, ALL they would need to do is stop giving 3 donuts per level up. Or increase requirements to five million. Or stop giving Level Up donuts at a certain point.

The idea that EA is upset that some of us old timers are farming and getting scads of donuts for free is absurd. They could put an end to that with ONE LINE of code. 😁

I'd like to be clear, and point out I mentioned a personal spend of around $200, but thinking blowing huge amounts gives you the right to sneer at a player spending £60 is not on.
If they think out-spending everyone sets them above us all then go see about even getting close to matching my donut count. Thought not.

None of it is a competition.
Not money spent, not bonus and not doughnuts sitting on your game...

And then you sneered at the person who spent thousands
