Why are some against graffiti?

Makes no sense you get points for it. I’ve seen so many don’t add me if you’re going to graffiti. As a fairly new player someone needs to explain this graffiti thing to me ?

I think 2 things
1) that it looked unsightly

2) that it did something to conformometer.

Not sure on number 2 but someone will confirm or correct me.

Some people theorized that it reduced your Righteousness. I experimented by deliberately doing graffiti in all my neighbor's towns for days - there was no effect on my Righteousness.
So then I experimented by NOT doing graffiti. My Righteousness dropped anyway.
However: Cleaning graffiti RAISES your Righteousness when it's low.
It should be noted that eventually your Righteousness stops dropping down to nothing. And it's only worth 0.5 multiplier points anyway...

A friend of mine unfriended me as she took this seriously. I took effort to purposely vandalise her buildings as a fun way to search and examine her town. Now when I visit my other friends. I still try to vandalise if I could find the buildings. Of course for a long time we were also hit with the nothing to tap glitch and can only vandalise.

I’m lucky if I even get 3 friends to visit my town anymore. Graffiti is welcome 😊

All are welcome to graffiti in my SF. I appreciate my neighboreenos visiting me. I would visit others more, but my device takes forever to load towns now. I need a new device someday.

If you have the ginger bread couch you can stop people from doing graffiti in your towns.

Not true! (Even though I 'liked' your post because it made me ) You can still graffiti the building if know the ones even though it doesn't show the spray can

I can't tag my main town with my second town when its switch on although sometime it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Always seemed stupid hating it to me, who cares just tap and it’s gone, i think its a cool mechanic and wouldn’t mind it on a few more buildings

One thing I have noticed is that gaffiti doesn't automatically clear when you tap on a building with tasks going on, like the other friendship tasks do, you have to tap it specifically, so maybe that's it...? Expediency?

This used to be such a hot topic early on in the game and it seemed EVERYONE had the only “correct” opinion on the issue. And there were very few “no opinion” votes, total polarising issue. To the point that I still worry I’ll offend a friend by tagging their town.

So to be clear, if you visit my town, I’m an artist and appreciate a good tag, so have at it. And I’ll gladly spray anyone’s SF unless they get wiggly about it or say “don’t tag”

It’s fun to search out the taggable buildings!
