Animal NPCs

Today I sadly stored all my NPC animals - at least until Act 2 when I’m hoping some problems may be corrected. The character task window became too frustrating.

At first I thought it was kind of nice to find the NPCs especially the tiny guinea pig, but it’s become too hard to manually assign tasks. Yes, I can use the unemployment office but there are many characters that I prefer to assign visible tasks - most of those have to be assigned individually.

And that’s a long standing issue: the unemployment office should have some setting about assigning visible tasks instead of just hours.

Anyhow I am wondering: because the animal NPCs show up in the task window does this mean there might be future tasks for them later in this event?

  • Not been able to use the character finder for over 4 years so not really affecting me but can understand that a sudden influx of NPC's can be a bit of a pain.

    Just assigning everyone to 24hrs during the event, except for event related chars. Seems easiest for now.

    Answering your Q, my guess is there will be a task that gets other NPC critters to either become pets, or compete w the dogs somehow. But in releasing code that temporarily overrode some existing NPC functions, (like the parrot's retorts) I suspect they caused a bug that exposes many random game imagery to slip into the charcter finder window. They'll patch it hopefully, but it could take longer to find and patch, than to let it play out. They've done that in the past plenty of times.
    All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
  • Problems are corrected with Act 2 - putting all the NPCs back in play :) Also for the first time in several years (I’m on iOS) I can buy the donut character- in this event it’s McGruff - in all my games instead of just the first game. Oh, this could get expensive in real money

    Mine are never able to do anything, is it supposed to be like that? Or are they really just that useless and just supposed to walk around my town and look cute..? xD

    Some NPCs do a thing when tapped; like Snorky (dolphin) does a backflip. When event started, this backflip was disabled. For Act 2, it was corrected and backflip restored. Now I see with the Dog Judging Stage we get in this actn some dogs can be tasked there (non-visual, one char at a time)

    Some NPCs dont do anything when tapped. Most have a response tho
