The forums aren't dead. There are too many new people that come in and replace the old, so it won't die any time soon. That being said, most of the people who left recently, were the ones who gave this forum a positive vibe. You know... friendly people. And since then, the amount of times I've seen people get in to an internet fight at the drop of a pin has multiplied. And the worst part is, most of those people I can't even remember who they are, because they haven't been here long enough to get an avatar. They just come in, say something sh**y, and then leave.

And that's what happens. When new people come to a friendly forum, they are more inclined to be social. But without positive people, I don't see any reason why they'd want to do that. If all they see is complaining, they'll respond by complaints about their complaining.

No one here is obliged to to keep things positive for the sake of new people, but if you want to see these forms improve, then that's the best way to do it. I want to see the forums be less sh**y, and so being positive is what I aim to do.

Like I said, I hope it gets back to normal soon. But, it's definitely dead right now. But I understand what you are saying.

I remember a long time ago, I was a big time lurker. I watched the camaraderie of the forumites and wanted to be involved. H1, simpsons0001, mdfriend, Spiffshine, Lissarv68, Neosec28, RS, Nettangel (I'm missing tons of people, these are off the top of my head). Tons of OT threads then too, but maybe because the game was newer, they didn't stay at the top quite as much. But things were fun here. After everybody left, it was slow for awhile, but new people came and it was fun again. But now, with the restrictions on the forum I don't see it coming back again.
Well, y'know. I'm sure the mods had-- I'm not going to say perfectly good reasons, but some reasons for getting rid of the OT. I'm not going to blame them for trying to organize, and do what they are told. But by now I hope it is painfully obvious to them, that it was a complete disaster. Without OT, this forum can only revolve around this game... this game, that has been hardly subtle about what a waste of time it is, and takes every step to be cynical about how we are all wasting our life. Without OT threads, where we can joke and be friendly, all that is left to talk about is this cynical game. That makes this entire forum a breeding ground for cynicism, complaints, internet fights, and just a general troll paradise.

Without OT, anybody trying to be positive is severely handicapped. I don't blame anybody for not having the foresight to see that. But in hindsight, it is plain as day. And maybe you're right. maybe if the mods don't bring the OT back, this forum will continue to decline in to a cesspool... Probably ruled by Josh. But in the meantime, I know that there are some mods, who are putting in the extra effort to make this forum work still. Even though they are handicapped, they are trying to find ways and loopholes to bring about as much OT as they can. That lets me know there is still hope. And as long as there is still hope, I will continue to do what I do. That is until there is no hope, at which point, I will probably join the rest of the positive people, wherever they're at.

I take it a lot of people took the huff because off topic posts were tightened up on.

I have a few things to say on that.

This is nothing to complain about being off topic is against terms of use on most specialist forums.

This sub forum should be called TSTO discussion not general discussion for the avoidance of confusion.

An off topic sub forum is better than a single thread.

In some forums discussion on moderator policies and actions is not tolerated at all.

Lastly lets all be cool if the rules change then the rules are the new rules. So just play by the rules. Don't try and change the world prove thst the rules are wrong go on a boycott untill things go back to the way you like them or throw the toys out the pram any other way.

Sorry, but I prefer to actually use my brain instead of just "following the rules". ❤️❤️❤️❤️ too wanted people to just follow his rules. If they're not good rules then they should not exist. But thank you for your input. It was fun to read and good for a laugh.

Just because a few off topic threads get deleted and are no longer prohibited doesn't mean the game will die. The forums are a small sample of players who play the game. This game will be around for a long time. Ea loves money and this game is a cash cow

Yes I think it is dying/dead. But I hope ea has somthing good for Halloween (which they need). It seems they just giving us an update every so often just to keep us happy. They should ask us what they need to do on the game to improve it not just an update. I remember last Halloween, I was waking up at 1 in the morning to squish zombies but I don't get that buzz anymore. It's not that nobody is playing its in the top 5 grossing apps and it has been for over a year.
