Hey EA, why didn't you leave the game alone if this is what we get when we update!!!

Well obviously the Holiday ended and they need to move on. It would be extremely hard for them to keep Halloween version while everyone else wanted to move on. There where numerous threads of people who wanted the update as soon as possible
Just think. Thousands of people or more probably are not going to wait just for you.
I do understand your frustration with the whole balloons thing (kind of a bust). Probably should have added a bit more, and I didn't think of it till now when you said a "cash free environment." I have hit a bit of a money deficit with this patch.
Otherwise. I dont think there is nothing you could have done because you joined the game late. It took me almost 20 days just to get everything playing casually.
Sorry to hear, mabye next year you can have another go at it?

Yeah I understand where your coming from too, but to go from a perfectly working system to constant game crashes and the inability to visit friends Springfield's was a trade off that I think nobody wanted or expected. And that is the basis of my frustration. On the upside, I'm glad I found this game and this forum community to be part of :-)

Sounds like we started playing around the same time, in case you didn't know - the Heck house facade requires the church to have already been built which I didn't get until today. The screen wasn't particularly clear about that.

I don't get why people are so mad about Halloween ending. Halloween is Oct 31st, it lasted a week longer than it should have. Get over it.

Not necessarily unhappy about Halloween ending, it's what they replaced it with. A couple balloons, but more importantly constant crashes and the inability to visit friends Springfields. I would have rather stay with the fully functional Hallloween than the inability to play thanksgiving with all the bugs.

Can understand your frustration but Halloween had long passed and it was time to move on and the thanksgiving theme seemed a logical point/time to do it.

I do, however, sort of agree, it would have been better to return to normal play rather than release an update that has just added to the ever growing list of issues, bugs and problems but a lot off players had already maxed at out level 22 and were in dire need of an update and felt it was time to move forward from the Halloween theme.

On a plus note for you, at least you managed to get the cemetery's, BDH and H of E and they now generate in game cash and XP.

On a negative note I think EA are going to have to release another update soon as a number if payers have already or are very close to maxing out the lvl 23 XP - it's not going to take me that much longer myself so I am now stuck between a rock and a hard place, hope EA release more content or leave things alone and just concentrate on sorting out all of the issues once and for all.

The friends issue is due to some of your friends not having updated to thanksgivings yet.

Logout, login and go to our friends list and remove those that haven't logged in in the last couple of days. Should fix the issue. I had the same issue until I dumped my friends list. Since then no problems.

Just tried it. I removed 3 friends that haven't played in one day, the rest all played today and it still crashes. When I try to go to friends, I see the Spiringfields for a split second then I get the Bart cannot connect screen. I must have tried a hundred times since this morning

I too thought that the friends that hadn't updated yet were a problem but not necessarily so, I even posted about it!

Some of them cause my game to freeze so I got to fully close the game so I thought aha problem solved just de-friend them but then I found some don't have the same effect so the issue isn't as cut and dried as I thought.

But back to the initial post, I'd prefer to be maxed out on lvl 23 and all the issues with game sorted than another release of more levels and content, which will for sure contain premium donut only items, which means more money for EA

It could be that they didn't know there was a problem until after the update was released and they figured it's easier to leave the bugs out there, let them all get discovered and fix them all at once than it is to pull the update and send it back into testing (where these bugs were presumably missed before). Plus there's time-sensitive material in the latest update; if they wait until everything is flawless they may have missed Thanksgiving altogether and be running into the near-certain Christmas update package so it's better to make us deal with a week of crashes than it is have all the work they did on the Thanksgiving update be wasted because they couldn't get it out in time.

Can sort of agree with you but....

The updates just don't happen on a whim and EA must have been working on the codes for ages now.

A far simpler solution would be to appoint game testers in the real world, i.e. use the players. EA could easily come to the forum and see who is active here, which would be a good indication of those that are regular payers and offer them Beta status so we could play the game in a test envoirnment and report back problems so they are sorted before the game is released worldwide.

But when EA don't moderate this or the Answers HQ properly or bring us all up to date with issues and the status I won't hold my breath.

However, what they do seem to be keen on is trying to extract every last penny out of its players by releasing updates which contain many premium items, such as the thanksgiving balloons. When the initial update was released they were all available to buy with in game cash but then they changed it so you need donuts now for the set.
