It isn't pointless, it is just most likely time released. Also maybe a few other fixes, preparation and things in there too.

Ya the events are always huge especially Christmas because of the snow maybe they will be taking the one idea and change the leaves colours orange and red

The update was only big because it seems their script that compiles the updates screwed up the main file.

It is 60MB but contains a bunch of duplicates inside the same folder so when extracting they overwrite the duplicates and you end up with 13 MB of files uncompressed.
