Can't connect to server

There's a glitch in the software somewhere that appears to be affecting most players (if not everyone) to one degree or another. Most people are experiencing frequent crashes but some can't connect at all. People have contacted EA's tech support, they say they're aware of it and working on a fix but so far it's not been patched. There's not much you can do at this point beyond waiting for them to fix the issues.

If you install another EA game that has origin IE: Monopoly hotels (free) and sign out your current user ID. You can get back in to the tapped out game and sign in as a different user and play or start a new town. Unfortunately you can not sign in to the old ID as you will get the same issue. Many of us have started over and have moved on. You can check your old ID once in a while to see if it is working but you will need to sign it off again like before.
