Negative. The ray gun costs 150 Donuts I believe. Once purchased, you can shoot down his ship that will show up in your SF.

You need to finish the second part of the ultra house quest to unlock it.

Earlier someone said they got kang for free, which means he had to be shot down.
Can't they both be shot down without using donuts?

I have kang already, I'm just curious.

From what I understand, if you bought the gun last year Kodos is free now.....If you buy the gun this year you get both aliens....essentially you are getting both for 150 donuts, whether you buy the laser now or last year.... :D

Not sure, sorry. I'm sure someone here has had this same situation.

You only get to shoot down Kodos and Kang just appears with the Victorian UFO. People who already have Kang get to have two crashed UFOs.

But I don't even see the ray gun in the market...locked or unlocked. Does it show up at some point?

It should be under your Halloween premium items...locked though. Until you finish the certain quest

I didn't have Kang and got him for free with the Victorian UFO. I am assuming now I will have to buy Kodos.

You're assumption is correct. Once you are done collecting 4K goo AND finishing Homer's quest with the UtraHouse 2...you will be able to buy the ray gun with donuts.

So if i have a ray gun from last year, and shoot down the new UFO, does it crash and destroy my ray gun and create another UFO crash site?

Am i able to get another ray gun after? it looks good in my science area

it really irks me that they expect everyone to be able to,afford donuts . i am on a limited budget and cant afford buying them. even if i had never used a donut i would not have 150 before halloween is over !!! there should be an alternative in game money way to get the ray gun. or it drops or a donut truck turns over just collect the donuts.

    robble robble robble grrrrr !!!

I have the ray gun and the alien ship is attacking it. I know I can shoot it down to get Kogo but I like the way the attacking spaceship looks. My question is.... If I shoot down the spaceship does it ever come back? I would like to have it attacking the ray gun. So is this a one time opportunity? If it is and I don't shoot down the spaceship, other than not getting a character is there any other negative consequences?

I'd agree with that. The game makes some smart comment along the lines of humans possibly being too mean to buy the gun and then gives you the opportunity to buy it. I purchased 300 donuts and then bought Witch Marge and something else with the rest. It's not fair on people who can't justify spending real money in my view.

In the whole pantheon of freemium games, TSTO lets you play much more of a full role in the game without spending any money at all then many similar games do. I have been playing for over a year, without ever spending a penny, and only very occasionally have I really coveted a premium item.

You get to take part in the special events, such as Halloween, you get to level up in the same way as players willing to pay, and there is no sense that the game is "rigged" to exclude non-payers from the important content. Nearly all of the premium stuff is a bonus rather than the backbone of the game ... you can still complete the whole Halloween questline and get all of the personal and community prizes without spending a penny, for example. You can also have a completed Krustyland, and a well populated Squidport, as well as the bulk of the best known Simpsons characters and locations.

That said, I did finally drop some cash because I wanted Kang and Kodos, but I could have lived without them (as I did last Halloween).

The bottom line is, for people to continue to play this game, EA need to keep developing it and providing regular content updates. If they don't make any money, they won't do that, and in order for them to make money, players have to want to spend money on additional content over and above the fundamentals ... so the premium stuff has be worth spending real money on.

If everything was provided for free (and I am including spending in-game cash as being free) then the game would soon wither and die.

Technically, you're not supposed to be able to to see the spaceship flying again after it crashes (makes sense don't it?), but there is a glitch where if you store Kodo's crash site (and Kodos by extension) into your inventory while the new raygun you get postcrash (in your inventory automatically) is placed in your town (NOT in inventory), a second spaceship will immediately start attacking your raygun. Shooting that spaceship down will produce a second Kodos crash site and the first one will be stuck in your inventory indefinitely.

You can keep doing this repeatedly until you get bored because you will get a brand new gun in your inventory every time Kodos crashes, the only downside is that you'll have about a hundred unusable Kodos' crash sites in your inventory too.

Be warned though, that if you cause that second spaceship to appear, Kodos will not reappear in your town as ataskable character even if you place the Kodos crash site again until you shoot down the ship. I don't know if this means he'll disappear forever if you don't shoot him down again before the event ends.

From what I've read, the spaceship will continue to fly around until the event ends,
