I have a little over 15000 goo already. I did not hack to get that goo. I did have the donuts to spend to speed up to get the 10000. I had the donuts to finish the whole halloween stuff but I am still working just as diligently as the rest of you to collect goo so we can get the community prizes.

It could be that the counter is pseudo real. That the community is steadily increasing it's goo output as more people update and actually get started on the quest, but that the counter isn't counting individual goo, but instead is simply doing a check every hour or 5, figuring out the average goo collected per second and extrapolating that forward. The worry as stated is that if things are real we will eventually see a massive drop off as people finish their 10,000.

Looking at my friends I think it's a justified worry. Those who obviously hack have their 10,000 and have barely budged since the first day. Most active players seem to be between 2,500 and 4,500. They will likely hit 10,000 sometime after the first prize is unlocked, and maybe after the second, but it they lose momentum we are in trouble. Those who started late don't seem to be ramping up collection, so while more people are updating and starting the quest every day, they seem much less motivated. If the motivated community stops work after they hit the 10,000 goal we could see a huge crash in the rate of goo collected, and if we see any crash we are screwed.

However, they may continue to get the 'free' donuts every 2000 goo. If I was finished and had days left until the event stopped, I would be working just as hard for the donuts!

This may be a silly question, but where is te community counter located? I haven't seen it since the first time I updated for the Halloween event.

I have been observing it since the beginning and doing the calculation to see what this increments are at every 12 hours. 2 days ago we were roughly around 3500 per second yesterday (12pm Central) we were at 4500 per second, last night around midnight (Central) we were around 5000 per sec, and I just did it again (10 am Central) it is around 5600 per second.

What I am doing its using the iPhone camera to take enough pictures to end up with around 10 numbers. Getting the difference between each number and calculating the average of the numbers. Basic statistics work.

To add on to this: I just did the calculations to figure out the increments again and 5 hours after my last calculation we are now at around 5900 per second.

i am guessing, but it Looks like ea set up a timer to get the prizes for us by the end of the event. Correct me if i am wrong please.

    1,800,000,000 and counting.

I just really want the Church of Lard Lad. That would look cool in my graveyard area.

Though the Skyscraper and King Homer would be awesome too.

That is one guess. I am somewhat leaning towards this but I am not sure.

I don't see EA doing all that work and not making it so it can be completed in the time frame.

What would be interesting is if everyone stopes collecting ghosts just for the day to see if the counter stops as well.

We hit the two billion mark and no signs of slowing down yet. It is 2:45 am Central, where I am; and I think we will reach 3 billion sometime Sunday.

we're past 2 billion now, the arrow is still on church of lard lad. Looking like it may be 5 billion a prize, unless it goes up per item. (Or down, doubt that)

Well it is slightly concerning, and I know there'll be a bit of a surge as more and more people find out, but there may well be a general decline in a few weeks as the excitement of the new event runs out and only the people who really really want the prizes keep collecting. (Just based on the fact that for me whacking day had become pretty meh after the first couple of weeks). Though I would certainly be dubious of the counter - this is EA. It wouldn't surprise me if they say two days before the event ends that it'll be impossible to get them so they're putting them on as expensive premium items.

I had the same thought based on whacking day. Once most people got the first round of prizes they quit whacking forgoing the prize boxes.

I don't know if it really works, or just a bug, but every time I hit the button that brings me to the Community Prizes window, it adds more to the total, and really speeds it up, does it happen to you to?

We are collecting around 6600 goo per second. At this rate and compensating for another 500 per second increase, we should reach the 3 billion mark by in about 12 hours.

I can see the meter is going a lot faster. We are already over 2,355,000,000 Billion goos.

We are just past 2.5 billion. We should be at 3 billion in about 12 hours or so and I think the other 2 billion will go even faster so we should be at 5 billion, I would assume, sometime Monday or very early Tuesday, but I am more inclined to think it will be sometime Monday.

Unfortunately I'm inclined to think the 5billon is only for the first prize because if you look at it you see the grey box with the arrow pointing at the first prize, and in my personal prizes my next one I'm waiting for is the dolphin and he has the grey arrow over him too so im thinking it's just for the first community prize :(

Im pretty sure it is too. I am just letting everyone know about when to expect to reach the first prize. Then we can worry about the next one after.

If we get all 5 prizes the "double tag pledge" thing will have to be abandoned as the gathering of goo for the greater good regardless of "stealing" is more important than 1 person losing goo. If you lose goo that's rough, but the comm prizes are the ultimate prizes and should be the main goal as gathering goo for the single prizes regardless of double tapping really isn't impossible.

Perhaps I am saying this because I've completed the single tasks and have over 10000 goo so the community ones are all that's left for me, but we're at ~250,000 right now and have a lot left. Specifics on how we get it or denials on how to get it really are just blocking the community and affecting progress.
