It's been happening to me as well, you're not alone.

The game is definitely buggy. Mine was working really well last night but it's now back to being slow and annoying.

I play on the train to and from work, and this morning the game was unplayable. If it stayed connected, it lagged so much that you couldn't do anything. Been working fine in the last few hours, but it's incredibly frustrating.

Outstanding update, the best holiday update thus far, but this is the only issue thus far. Happens on both my phone and ipad.

This was happening to me and the way I found to make sure it doesn't happen is to wait until after that little window that says Thanks! pops up to place your gremlins. After that, I had no issues.

My game is crashing constantly... But one of the main things I've noticed is when visiting friends, if they have a ton of houses built up right on top of the others then my game lags, sputters and crash on their SF towns. So I'm weeding through and having to remove them sadly :(

I'm not positive it will help my game and I may be totally screwing myself of having them as neighbors...but frankly I'm desperate at this point.

Before the update I had a massive house farm (1610 houses) in one of my side towns. Sadly, I knew it would cause problems during the update so I put it in storage (that's how I know how many houses I have). Anyway, it was so massive that if the entire farm was ready for harvest the game would be supper laggy when I played on my phone (tablet, not so much). It got to the point that I had to collect half of it at a time. Even then, it took a while for the game to be normal. It didn't matter what time a day or what type of wi-fi I was using.

My point, if your game is being super laggy, try collecting from all your buildings and haunted places first. Find the easiest thing to collect. The less things on the screen the better. This includes dollar signs, roaming characters, roaming decorations, other decorations, etc... Also, people entering your town will cause slow downs in your game.

Thanks for the advice... I'll try that before I do any massive neighbor removal, I don't like having to remove anyone unless their completely inactive. :)

The problem is if your neighbors have massive towns than it will still take much longer to enter their towns and may make your game crash. I have some friends with extravagant towns and it takes a long time to enter their town, even with a tablet. My strategy is to just not enter their towns until last in case I run out of time or patience.

Good strategy... Going to try that one too. Thanks for your help.

I've just found the second neighbor that I can't enter at all. The game crashes every time I try. I'll guess I'll have to delete this one as well :-(
