I won't double haunt anymore. I didn't stop to realize that it could be a bad thing. Wasn't trying to be selfish. Sorry neighbors. I'll do better!

It's not selfish, it's selfish if you don't, getting that extra 3 helps the community total, so instead of helping 1 person, you are helping thousands.(I'm meh if the total is rigged, I would say yes, but it changes constantly)

How would you know if someone is double haunting you?

If someone double haunts a building, how would that appear on your game?

We're assuming that we would be "stealing," but we really have no way of knowing what ACTUALLY happens unless we test it out. Right?

I did test it out. I had my main town open on my iPad, and a secondary town on my iphone. I haunted a building in my main town, then opened a third town of my on my iphone and haunted the same building in my main town again. I then let my main town resync and I watched as that building went from being tappable to just having ghosts flying around it to just back to normal. I never was able to tap on it

Oh! That's not cool! Thanks for letting me know. I haven't made a habit of it, but I HAVE double-haunted a couple of times. I'll be sure to keep from doing that, if that's how it works.

    Thanks for the info! :)

Of course I do it, give my friends a harder time and give me more goo, I don't feel remotely bad about doing it, it's the game.

    Exactly.

I double haunt because it's for the greater good. We're trying to get comm prizes and I want all the goo I can and so should all of you. I'm not going to hold your hand if I feel I can get us to the comm prizes faster. I'm also not going to restrict myself. We have to join together to collect these extremely high goo amount prizes and we shouldn't restrict or feel bad about doing whatever it takes.

Plus this whole pledge thing is ridiculous. Do whatever it takes to get there no matter what.

by double haunting them you're potentially making them lose 12 GOOs so you can have 3 extra
they'd lose 6 because you took their GOO and another 6 because you would of haunted 3 of their houses
so you're technically just making us get the community prizes slower

Haven't you been paying attention? You are DEPRIVING THE COMMUNITY OF GOO if you double haunt buildings. The amount of goo the other person gets for 6 haunted buildings is more than you get for unhaunting the three.

I hunt houses first so that I don't accidentally tap a hunted house when tapping ghosts.

Ditto. It took me a while to figure that out, though!

Wait, I actually do the gremlins first, if someone has room for any, then houses, and then I can get the ghosts at my leisure.

maybe you need to do a bit of basic maths revision
the person you haunted potentially loses 12 goos:
    6 from being unhaunted
6 because you would of haunted them
so you take 3 extra goos
so take the 12 taken from that person and minus the 3 extra you get = 9, the community loses out on 9 GOO for each neighborhood double-haunted, therefore making it take longer

Yes and I am proud of it. My neighbors don't even know its me that is doing it.

P.S. My forum name is different to my ingame name.

But easy to find, TrevorPhillipsIndustries, as you posted in the add me forum.

The first couple days I did, but then I read somewhere on here that it takes away from my neighbors goo count.
    So no...not anymore. :)

I'd rather pull my teeth out with rusty pliers than double haunt one of my friends.

    Yep no double for me

    I did it until I reached 10.000.

After that I simply started tapping Squidport stores and I'm leaving extra gremlins to the ones that have a low count.

Now I'm enjoying the update without worrying about the prizes. Donuts can wait, they are not my top priority although they were a nice addition to the game.

have you all actually tested this? i tap haunted houses in my town from my second account, and when i log into my primary account, that building is haunted and i get goo, it's always the same 4-5 buildings that are previously haunted when i enter my town from my second account and those are always the building my neighbors seem to tap (of course so they can get two goo) and i always am able to collect goo from them when i log in and see they haunted the building

I dont, and if accidentily do, I leave extra gremlins.

I wish EA would leave the thieves/selfish jerks nicks on the unhaunted dwellings so I could immediately unfriend them. I think the name of whomever visited, last, should be left, so the creeps are outed for being creeps.

I am keeping a list, as soon as I discovered people were doing that. I am removing the rats, too many decent people playing this game to let a snake gain by stealing what my friends leave me.

my confession, I didn't vote. I double haunted all my friends who never, ever, ever, visit my Springfield on a regular basis if there was no event. I went to their towns everyday for months and months. Anyone new friend I added for the Halloween event I did not double haunt. Now that I have all the personal items, I do not double haunt my old friends either even though I know these people will abandon me after the event. I'd expect most of my new Halloween friends will continue to visit based on the layouts from their towns, they seem more into the game.

further more I go in and out of my town so much I doubt I could be double haunted but I've always been an addicted player. So I think it's also up to each player to protect their investment just a bit. EA must have built this is for a reason.

Im at nearly 10,000 Goo a little over a week into the event, as many are, and I never got my undies in a twist over friends double tapping. Really doesnt bother me.

I do try and avoid doing it though, but once in a while I hit one by accident. There is one exception...

...I have one neighbor that had 10,000 Goo on the very first day, so obviously he paid for his Goo and I doubt he cares if once in a while I unhaunt one or two of his buildings. As a matter of fact, given his town is overrun with ghosts and haunted houses, I wonder if he bothers to check in more than once a day.

Any player that will buy all the prizes on day one of the event obviously has no shortage of donuts and doesnt need the goo.

There you go, that's my confession.
