There are quite a lot of free opportunities for free donuts with Halloween. If you have lots of spare cash you can buy and sell weather stations to gain exp to hit the bonus level ups faster

ive never paid any real money for donuts and am pretty pleased with my town, it is possible to have a really good town without spending donuts you just have to have patience

dont know whether you are on apple or android but if you could be bothered you could go down the survey route and get itunes cards for filling in surveys, you can then use the free cards to buy donuts

EA has to make it easier to get donuts, it makes me not enjoy the game as much

I've been playing since Saint Patricks Day and I've only spent $2 on doughnut scratchies and won the major prize as well. Bought Frinks Lab and I accidentally bought a Funzo, I currently have 78 doughnuts. I think their doughnut prices are good enough. EA has to make money. Plus we've been given so many free doughnuts this Halloween. I've finally given in and I bought a Itunes Card when it was on sale so I can get some limited edition items.

Wait... how do you get donuts with iTunes cards? Or do you have to be on the iPad/iPhone to do it? I am using Kindle, so it probably won't work anyway. It won't let me buy donuts no matter what I do, I just can't figure it out.

iTunes cards give credit in the iTunes/App Store, that Apple users can then use to buy stuff, in this case donuts. I have no idea how it works on Kindle, sorry.

This latest update is the best yet for free donuts. The 10K goo level is easily achievable if you play regularly, then every 2000 after that you will earn more. Not to mention that I got 5 donuts somewhere around crossing 2000 goo (I don't remember exactly how/when), plus the random donut when tapping ghosts. I'm less than 3000 goo, yet I've already gotten 8-10 free donuts just this week.

I used to think that EA was being stingy, but they have to make money, so it needs to have some appeal for those willing to spend money to buy things. If it was too easy, then there would be no incentive to spend $ and therefore no game for any of us. Not to mention that you can still build a pretty awesome Springfield without spending a dime.

Focus on what you HAVE, not on what you don't. :-)

If they give donuts away for in-game cash, it really defeats the purpose of having a "premium" part of the game.

I get that it sucks not having some of the premium characters, but that's the lure to get you to spend your money.

You gotta have a little patience. Like everyone else has mentioned, this Halloween update has been very generous on the free donuts compared to other events like Whacking Day. It's only been 5 full days on getting Goo/Gremlins and I've already gotten 18 donuts (10 from Strongman Homer, 8 from possessed buildings in mine/other SF's). And we have a chance to get 6 more for one of the quests (I won't spoil it, it's in one of the quest threads on here) + additional ones when you get 2000 goos after getting all of the prizes.

I have 138 donuts and have been playing since Whacking Day. So I know the tedious feeling you have, but in my opinion it makes it a lot more fun when you earn them yourself rather than buying them/house farming/etc.
