I think I have 36,800 now - I was wondering if there was a way to find out who has the most... A leader board would be nice.
The people winning, would be the ones having the possesion glitch, and taking advantage of it... And you would always have some hackers... No chance of knowing who had collected the most, without cheats or glitches...
One more thing, some people have bought enormous amounts of living walls and crypts. Those people would have more than others. How would you compare fair and square? Some people have premiums, others don't.
Anyways, I have passed 38K and making good progress towards 50K GOO, even though 60% of my neighbours clearly have finished this Halloween event, and taking a break until it's ended. Seems a lot of people doesn't really care about getting free donuts if they have to "work" for it...
Closing in on 40,000 now, but it seems like the last leg to 50k will be a real grind. Productivity has already slowed in the last week what with the update and taking Lisa and Bart off of trick-or-treating, and neighbors being less neighborly. And now with clicking on SP tiles... I hope I get to 50,000...
I'm at 44K now, and should be able to make it, even though Homer has wandered off my grid in his eagerness to eat ghosts, and Bart and Nelson are off doing level quests. And it has surely gotten increasingly harder to get GOO as more and more neighbours has obviously gotten tired of doing their neighbourly visits. I'll also probably be a lot more busy in the coming days, but still... only 6K GOO... I should be able to make it now...

I'm at 31,218 right now, with only 1 cemetary and 1 Pet Cemetary as my ghost generators. Don't think I can push to 50,000, but the lure of free donuts will make me try.

I have both cemeteries, 2 mausoleums, 1 wailing wall, (edit: forgot the burial ground) and 100 friends I visit every day - and I only double haunt by mistake (Death to Sideshow Bob!). I knew I'd have loads of time to play and suspected my friends probably would not, so I played to accommodate them. I thought, if I only had an hour or so a day to play and had to catch up on the weekends I'd probably be less concerned with stockpiling a gazillion gremlins and more concerned with playing with all my new items, and checking out possessed characters, and all that other fun stuff. And since after only a day of playing it became apparent that it was difficult to find gremlin-free towns, I found a strategy.
I give out gremlins when people visit my town and give me gremlins. Although, I do sometimes drop them off in a town if I'm reasonably sure they will get squished or give them to people who visit me and don't give me gremlins, generally it's an exchange - gremlins for gremlins. At the very beginning I couldn't hope to keep up the amount of gremlins I got and had to limit myself to 2 per person. But after a week or so it started to even out. So my thinking had been, if I had limited time to play I'd give priority to a town that was usually available and generally gave gremlins in exchange for getting them. My friends agreed.
So there you go. I got a great response by making sure my gremlins got squished. Of course you can only do this if you control the time variable.
(I don't want to get a bunch of "Get a life!" posts, but neither do I want to talk about my * on here, so ... TSTO helps distract from some unpleasant medical side effects. Let's leave it at that.)
