Best donut value: Frink vs Sideshow Mel?

Some things to consider:

Sideshow Mel will earn you tickets in Krustyland...Frink won't.
You could win Frink from a Homer Buddha...can't win Mel
Frink's lab animates when he's inside....Krustylu Studios does nothing when Mel is inside.
Frink will earn you more Goo with a special Halloween task...Mel won't
Frink has better outdoor animations (his flying machine and ufo) vs. Mel in my opinion

Frink has more tasks that require other buildings. I would go for sideshow mel personally. I bought him and hes hilarious.
As mentioned above, he also has tasks in krustyland
Halloween is ending soon so collecting goo isnt really as important since you dont buy donuts (do it do it do it!)
so you have to think of the long run since its such an expensive decision for you.

Thanks y'all. That does help a lot. Is Otto comparable? I could get him and try a Homer Buddha or start saving for my next donut purchase. I also read on another thread that the raygun might be the best purchase. Decisions decisions! I'll dig through that character list tomorrow.

Try the low tech, grass roots solution.

Get the one you like the most.

Check out Marge with Cauldron. Not only do you get a premium skin that pays out on a premium scale, but you also get the cauldron that adds 3.75% to every task you do in the game. She even has a task that speeds up the crops

I wouldnt go for a budda though...they tend to give non premium things like pavement, parking lots, and stuff like that
Theres an occasional premium prize, but its few and far between.

You are thinking of the Mystery Box. The Mystery box gives out junk like hedges, parking lots and the sort. The Buddha gives out a premium item. However this premium could POSSIBLY be a mystery box. But more than likely you will get a premium decoration, such as an Apple Tree, or a bench with jacket, or a tire swing. Getting Frink is more like hitting the lotto jackpot.

@OP. I would say whichever character you like best. If you need cash, get Frink. If you need Tickets, get Mel or Otto (Otto also goes there).

If you really want, I'd get the Ray Gun as you'll get Kodos and she won't be available till next year (possibly). So I would say if you really see yourself playing long term and/or purchasing donuts (recommended!) then get the Ray Gun. If you will never purchase donuts, get Frink or Mel. Both have cool buildings and good tasks.

One final point, Mel came at Christmas, so he may have some part this year (possibly).
