How high do you have your brightness set? This stopped happening to me when the 4.0 client was released.

Lowest possible. My phone usually doesn't make it through half a day between TSTO, texting, and Tiny Tower. I have iOS 5, though. I didn't want to update to iOS 6 because of the "Apple Maps," but I may now that Google Maps is out.

Edit; Oh yea, plus my iPod Touch 4th gen has a lot of stability issues with iOS 6. Updating is scary.
