Why aren't you tapping the squidport tile?

Prev134
Time, I suppose. They just click in town, tap the first three things they see, and move on.

if that's the case then why do you even visit?
tapping the tile 3 times in one town gives you more XP then visiting all your neighbors put together if you just tap other things.

You can really see your XP jump after visiting some towns and tapping tiles

I can't imagine that folks who frequent this forum would be the ones not tapping tiles. In my SF, I have a simple rule with neighbors. If I find 3 taps on buildings NOT the SP tile or Cletus' farm, then my next action is removal of said individual. But I don't blame these people. I just chalk it up to unfortunate ignorance. It is these same people who have a tile ready that I tap when I visit and then go back a few hours later to tap again and find the tile missing. It's a shame they are missing out on this "glitch" while it is active but I have to make room for the people "in the know" on my friends list so they get booted.

Yes! this made me angry, they're so lazy or illiterate I assumed, deleted all but 1 friend, I used to be maximum popular...

    Please add: casinolyrics

I will return the 3 squid tiles daily.

    Thanks

Why a couple hours for return, every neighbor tile I found, which were few, I only had to exit, then immediately re-enter to tap again. Did they not get 3 handshakes for that ? hmm...

I just clicked my own farm!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

It wasn't corn though, just moonshine. If it was corn I would have thrown my phone across the room in absolute disgust.

So, I won't have a farm to click on for the next 12 hours (using witch marge to speed up the crop) but my tile is still there and clickable.

no they only get one for that

they get three if they collect the handshake before you tap the tile again.
i don't have time for that so i just triple tap it and collect the XP and they can get one tile.
i only get about 2 to 3 tile handshakes per day and i am almost to the "official" max number of 151 tiles

Anyone know the reason behind the different XP for tapping squidport tiles? Most people i get about 6XX but a couple people I only get about 30 odd XP.

Edit: this is to the OP (several posts popped up while writing 'cause I R slow :) )

My guess is ignorance. I suspect not everyone who plays the game also reads the forum. For instance I have (well actually had - I got tired of it and took it down) a message requesting that my neighbors tap my Squidport tile. Several of them make sure to tap three SP buildings every time they visit, but not my tile. Clearly they don't quite get what I mean but are doing their best with what information they have. How can I hold this against them? I enjoy TSTO immensely, but I have to admit I don't get too bothered over how people choose to play it.

Except, of course, when it comes to exactly how is the correct way to collect special event currency. Or, I should say rather the controversies over how to collect said currency. The ardent and long-winded debates on the forum during events are as equally entertaining and as much a part of the game as any storyline or task. It's a shame that anyone should miss out on them.

I have been building a tile tapping network over the last couple of weeks and have about 40 or so folks who have tiles. I make one pass in the morning to click their tile, one pass around lunch time and then the last one around 7PM. All times PST. If I were to tap, log out, log in, tap and repeat for everyone, I would have to call that my full time job instead of my actual full time job which pays real US dollars instead of, also much needed, in-game cash. :)

Besides, a lot of people I have found can only have 2 total handshakes and if you tap the tile again before they have a chance to collect the first tap, the second tap does not show up on their end and it becomes a waste.

the difference is the tile build level they are at
a 2.5 day build tile yields the 650 XP i believe

For those of you who chose to not tap the squidport tile when visiting your friends town, why do you do that? It's massive XP for you, and it gets your friend more tiles. What's the downside?

Only 6 to 10 of my neighbors even visit the forums so most people don't even know about it.

The ones that are frequent forum flyers are tapping your tile.

Depends how many tiles they have and/or how much the tile they "bought" is worth. The last range 121-151 (in terms of number of tiles at the 3.5 day wait) range is worth 600 xp. I'd imagine they bought one of the first ones so you only got 30 xp.

Nope. They only saw one handshake. Unless they just happened to catch sight of your first one and they cleared that handshake. THEN they see another single handshake from you. Handshake stacks pictured in this forum show one handshake per friend, from multiple friends.

From what your neighbors see, you came to their town once, made only one tap, and were too lazy even to bother tapping ANY other buildings on your way out. They have no idea that you are such a good neighbor that you came back two more times thinking you were helping them.

This system is rife with flaws and misunderstanding.

I've been tapping the tiles of my neighbors when it is there. Mine hardly ever gets tapped. I even wrote out tap tile with bushes where my neighbor comes into my town. SMH.

Neighbors are tapping your tiles. It's just that the glitch is getting glitchier and glitchier. I have tons of neighbors tapping my tile as well as an alternate account and the tiles are not showing. Yes, even for the first tap. Maybe EA figured a partial patch.

Not only that, it's the tile build they were at when they created the tile you are tapping. It doesn't matter what tile build they currently are at. I've exceeded the non-glitch Squidport limit and my tiles still only give 6XX.

what's really annoying are people who are former tile collectors (past max limit and inadvertently tapped their tile) who visit you and don't tap your tile.

Keep in mind that most players aren't regular posters here or even regular readers. Lots of folks just come by occasionally for an "add-me" thread, so I'm not surprised only a handful of my 100 neighbors are tapping the SP tile on their visits. Word gets around though, so I'm confident more will start tile-tapping.

It's amazing how some folks chew through neighbors at imagined slights. There's always some kind of fad brewing when it comes to standards for your neighbors. It's often event-related; at one time there was an "add me only if you have all the premium buildings thread" because visitation payouts were better if you had more premium buildings. Helluva thing.

It would save a lot of frustration/snobbery for a lot of folks on the verge of "punishing bad neighbors" if they'd just keep in mind that most people don't read this board religiously, or even read it often. There's a lot of great info/great players here, but not everybody has it, and there's nothing wrong with that.

    Happy Tapping!

Ok, thanks for clearing that up, my bad
Fully agree too, trying to return after they gather each 1 would not be worth it.

I officially change my offer, I will return any who add me 1 squid tile daily, if any have vacancies...
