The no land extension was a little disappointing, but I can hold off another level maybe 2 without really needing land, but this is already pushing it. I hope they release land before Valentines day event though.
I'm happy with all the land I got BACK. Was able to store all my duplicate restaurants and Kwik-E-Marts. Just one of each restaurant, and one of each store :-). All I have now are duplicate houses to keep the rating up.
2 questions....
1. Why on gods green earth would anyone argue or b.itch with us about wanting more land. Are you that miserable in life? If you don't need the land the. Don't buy or use it! But to argue or make crazy suggestions like making people pay donuts for land just does not compute to me.
2. Why does EA hold out on releasing more land? It just downy compute to me. Is it hard for them to do? Is it hard to code? Are they just jerks? It just makes no damn sense.
Have a good day folks. I'm enjoying level 38. I hope you are also.
If people knew how to manage what they have they wouldn't need all this land they whine about.
This!
I found that adding parking lots to every single building takes up way too much space. I limit mine to bigger buildings like the mall/skating rink. Also, I don't have any duplicate buildings (except the elf houses) and I'm at 4 and a half stars.
Edit- on my second town which is at level 37 atm (I've taken over for a friend who could no longer play), I have every building except the hospital built and there are huge empty spots around because I have nothing to fill it in with. I'm waiting for new buildings to be released (like the supermarket/court- score!)
True not all players need more land and farmers certainly are fitting the category don't you even think about it but what about some people like me?
Yes, I have a few large designs and I although before Halloween and Christmas I had plenty of space for the new levels, in a matter of weeks I run out. I cant even buy a couple of premium buildings because there is no space to put them anymore.
So Id recommend 2 solutions
The first one would be for the player to pay either in donuts or insane amounts of money ex500.000 to 1 million for every new piece of land.
The second is similar to the Krustyland and how we now visit friends. Imagine a twin server of our town with part A and part B. For EA that would be like having two different towns but will be able to build and be creative at the same time while having the double amount of land we know have. Helpful would also be if the servers could give us a merged pic (preferably downloadable) of our town.
Luckily with the buildings provided in this update, I'm able to make it work with a little redesigning here and there but I will 110% need more land for valentines day. It's getting very tight indeed.

They have made us wait this long, so they better give us two rows of land on both sides. One measly strip on one side most likely won't solve most people's land issues.

I agree I am hoping for at least three strips of land.

I have no intention of arguing or * about it, because I don't care one way or the other. At the moment, I still have most of two strips still to get, so I am not in a position to worry about it just yet.

I think it does make sense and isn't because it is hard, hard to code, or because they are just jerks trying to yank your chain.
The way the game appears to work is that on logging in, your device downloads your entire SF from the server ... mine certainly has taken longer and longer to open up the longer I have played and the more expanded my SF has got, which points to that being the case. When you visit neighbours, your device also downloads each of their entire SFs from the server ... the fact that the bigger, more densely decorated SFs take much longer to load than the small, more recently started ones, again, points to that being the case.
Already we have complaints from players about instability and frequent crashes (particularly when visiting neighbours with larger SFs) and EA's developers have to balance off the needs of players who want more land against the fact that the game needs to run on a variety of hardware, which isn't all ultra-powerful/state-of-the-art, as stably as possible.
The players demanding more land, are precisely the players whose Springfields are likely to create crashing for neighbours because of the demands placed on the hardware by the bigger, more densely decorated towns, so my guess (and it is a guess) would be that EA is simply erring on the side of caution in order to keep the game running well for as many players as possible, rather than having to restrict the game to newer hardware (which I understand they have already done once).
Bottom line is ... don't attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by lack of processing power.
For what it is worth, I hope those wanting more land get it ... but I'd rather it didn't come at the expense of rendering the game less stable for those on older/lower powered hardware.

Only just started on it ... but yeah, worth waiting for IMO.

It would make my life much easier if they would add one directly adjacent along the mountains. That way I don't need to move my entire town to keep it symmetrical (never spell that word correctly).
I really need more land on the far right (opposite side of the water). I'm as far out as I can go and the sky scrapers need to go over there so they don't block the buildings behind them lol.

Three strips of land? You're kidding, right? One strip would be enough for me for a while. Even with almost all the buildings (save the supercollider) I still have land left over...and that is after putting in the courthouse and market.
I kinda understand why people need land so badly...but only up to a point. Don't overdecorate. Maximize your space and you'll be fine.
Don't get me wrong: I respect other points of view. This is mine. We'll get land when we get land...whenever that will be

With three strips of land I could plan ahead and be satisfied until next year.

My land is all tapped out.

To those that say things like: I've been playing since march '12 and have all premium buildings and aspirationals. Plus decorations.
Exactly that.
I've been playing this game since it has been released and never missed a limited time building or anything during special events like Whacking Day.
Now I'm waiting for a land expansion to start re-decorating
