    +1

It already sounds like this person has one of the earliest devices. A land update would absolutely render the game unplayable for them.

Yeah the land situation is ridiculous now. I have sections of my town where I've just crammed 3/4 buildings in a tiny space with no design. The Itchy and Scratchy Studio got dumped in the middle of my, now destroyed, river as there's nowhere else big enough to fit it.

Isn't the point of the game to be able to DESIGN your own Springfield not to just cram as many things into the tiniest of spaces.

Yes it is, but the limitations of the devices on which the game is played means that there has to be a limit on the maximum amount of land available.

The newest devices can handle more land/bigger Springfields no question, but the game is now two years old and can still be played on two year old devices. At some point choices have to be made, one of which is whether to provide more land and render the game unplayable on older devices, upsetting users of those devices, or limit the amount of land available so you don't have to do that, thus frustrating users with "full" Springfields (of which I am pretty much one).

I would tend to think that latter choice is likely to keep winning for the most part.
It also doesn't help that my game is broken and I have a number of places where I can't place anything without my game completely freezing and I can't store trees to be able to clear space that way either.

... which might be an example that demonstrates the point.

Maybe have two versions. Like minimun requirements hardware for land version 1 and 2. Or detect device RAM / Processor when buying land.

    So all will be happy.

Can't see that being workable, since you would also have to restrict users of the lesser version to neighbours also using the lesser version, and effectively create two player bases ... and then you would have to deal with people getting new hardware and updating their game to the higher version, would they just disapper from the neighbour lists of those still using the lesser version?

    Too many potential headaches.

Agreed, but problem need to be solved.

New hardware and uptading will not stop. If updating stop, the fun will stop.

The ammounts of decorations, buildings, characters, land needs to be proportional in my opinion. There always will be players that will want to complete the game.

The only workable solution for EA, should they deem this necessary, is to introduce another 'KrustyLand' separate gamespace.

Of course, everyone wants THEIR SF to look the way THEY want; nevertheless, never quite fathomed why some Tappers put every building in a block of their own; most of the shops look very good when lined up in a row (like real towns do).

There's also the peeps with ugly SFs full of house farms!

TBH, it's like moving to a bigger bedroom/apartment/house IRL, need more room for all your ****, the bigger space is still mis-used by spreading the same **** over a bigger area, and still seems tight for space! :)

Agree with comments that SF is big enough if you use the space in a reasonable way. I'm a freemium player so I have only a few premium buildings, but I have everything that can be bought with in-game cash plus almost all event buildings going back to Halloween 2013. This leaves enough room for a big river going all the way through town, a big forest, several parks, parking lots, dozens of houses (all of which have yards and fences), and enough unused land still available for months of new additions. What I haven't done is to surround every building with roads, instead putting together commercial buildings as you'd see in a real town. If some people would reduce the amount of real estate covered by useless roads, they might find they have plenty of land without having to make it look like a house farm.

This applies to you and not to me. I have all event items going back to September '12 all storyline buildings and every premium item / building released. I have had to remove parks and rivers etc to cram in new buildings. The fact is that every player will eventually run out of room and will comment in favour of more land.

My situation as well. I have EVERY premium item/building minus five that I missed, plus EVERY episode tie in building/decoration as well. Even going through and placing them with no decorations, rhyme or reason the area we have is STILL not really enough as the buildings are almost stacked upon each other.

My solution would be to take away about 1/2 of the land available for Krustyland and add that to Springfield. The area for Krustyland is simply WAY TOO BIG for the small amount of rides and items that can be used there. Since it has been introduced we have gotten THREE additional rides, the twirl-n-hurl, happy little elves, and the tunnel of love.

This shouldn't make any difference. When you are in Springfield, all of Krustyland should be in storage rather than RAM. The equivalent of sitting on your PC's hard drive. Deleting land from Krustyland would only decrease the storage requirements, it shouldn't improve RAM or processor usage.

EA, I don't care how many premium item/building you come out with every news update.. I don't buy it before you release more Land. I am out off land for 9 months... donuts it good for EA, but donuts is still in my pocket.

There are currently 14 x 14 spaces of land expansion, plus 2 x 14 spaces of water expansion.

Fair enough, there are certainly a lot of buildings in the SF's of longtime players that I don't have because I never had a chance to acquire them. I think eventually either 1) EA will enlarge the surface because the vast majority of players will have devices capable of handling it (and those few who don't will just be screwed) or 2) EA won't care. Not sure which it will be. But even if they add land, it sounds like it could be a while.

There's a new poll and thread on the land debate here - http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/10116990.page. Its currently a tight race, 19 yes for land and 18 no's. Right now, its tighter race than I would have thought.

Relatively new player (6 months), and I agree. KL seems to have a huge amount of land. Some of my friends have bought the entire thing and spread the KL all over it. I'd hate to have to wall all over an amusement park like that. I'm too old for that sh*. :)

Yea, but gota think not everyone has been playing since the beginning and has every premium like some of us. A lot of freemium players out there.

Bump, where's the land? Now they add a mansion, can't have a gold mansion with a small amount of property. So far I have my gold mansion, Popsicle skyscraper, and sunsphere in my inventory til I decide what I'm going to do with my town. This is getting crazy, how many more building will we get before a land update. Scared to see what the next big event has to bring.
