I'm in the same boat. I started the detention quest, then realized I probably should've kept Lisa chugging away at the darn turkeys because that's a limited time holiday quest. So I've lost her for 6 hours today but that's ok.

I have been doing a daily grind with the non-used characters, mainly because I need money to buy wolfcastles mansion. It helps I have a very boring job lol.

I am going to do the detention 6 hour quest overnight for Lisa, seems like a waste to do the 4 hours task while sleeping 8 hours. But yeah, I am trying to get thru the Thanksgiving quest as soon as possible since it is limited, but I think I should be fine since we should get into the beginning of December to finish it.

Enjoy the ride. The strategy is fun. Once you catch up and level out, it's time to start finding other things to challenge/entertain you in the game (3D effects, changing your layouts, buying the wigsphere, planting corn, maxing out conformity, posting on forums). Is there anything else long-time tappers (especially grinders like me) do while waiting for new content?

I thought you had to finish one levels tasks before the next level ones pop up? When did this change?

You forgot to mention the aspirational purchases.

No, referencing the Magnifying glass, Popsickle stick tower, escalator to nowhere and that diamond.

Methinks that will take you quite a while. It's gonna take a lot of money to get through all those quests and new levels are dropped all the time. I guess prices do drop as you level up but I max leveled in June or July and couldn't finish a level before the next one dropped until October. I started Halloween caught up and then the event helped me get ahead. But I still have over half the land to buy still and all the aspirationals. I'm still a couple weeks from finishing krustyland also. I definitely recommend putting KL off until you're caught up in SF.

But I definitely think it'll be a good long while before you're bored.

ETA: unless you're also house farming. Then you'll probably finish quickly and get bored.

Well then don't rush it, because you do eventually run out of stuff to do. Finish one thing at a time and only ever worry about "limited time" items. And even then we've seen some of them offered again during the same event of the following year, i.e., 2012 Halloween items during 2013 Halloween event.

Edit: episode tie-ins seem to be things only ever offered once and once only.

    Have things changed :? :?

Before I maxed out on levels, you didnt even know what was in the next level until you finished yhe previous level.....

I know there are walk throughs but surely you have to wait for each task to officially trigger in order for it to count?

    I am confused.......

I don't look at the wiki quest list often, but I did for this post, which is how I knew where I was within each level. Not sure if it changed or not, but you can have more than one level's quests going at one time now.

Since I did this post this morning I realized that I actually did start Level 34 quests (didn't pay attention that this was the quest line for the S.W.A.T van I just placed that). And then when Lisa finished her first turkey call she told me to build the high school which is level 35.

I have a good amount of houses (no farm - I place roads around them and vary the types), a good conformity %, and I play throughout the day, so I have been known to turn around 1 hour to 4 hour tasks throughout the day. So I do get a good amount of money. Plus the farm/channel 6 have been a huge money getter. I had huge money issues in the beginning but less now.

Now here is the real sad part, I started right before the Halloween event started. So in what, a month and a half I got to level 37. No way EA meant for people to level up that fast.

I had the same during the Halloween update, when there were times when the taskbook had up to 14 tasks for me at once.

Let me assure you: The game ist still fun once you managed to catch up and you can begin to expand your Springfield and actually design it as you want (rather than just find some free space for the next building you are prompted to build).

Yeah, it's not just because of the tiles, I leveled up far faster than I built stuff even before tilegate. I leveled all the way up during the first weeks of Halloween, and I'd probably have just built the high school if I hadn't won at Springfield Downs. But anyway, my current task list is:
Make Lisa call turkeys (currently underway)
Make Lisa fix the science curriculum (12 hrs) Skinner, as well, but he's halfway through it now because I could start him on it right away. I should have started her on this one after the last turkey call, because I don't think I'll still be awake when she finishes again.
Make Lisa go minigolfing (24 hrs) Todd and Martin have already done this, but Lisa is calling turkeys and doing Knowledgeum things as well, so no minigolf for her until sometime this weekend.
Then I have a quest to build the DMV and to build Bachelor Arms and I haven't built much on squidport yet, so I also have the quest to build Just Rainsticks. Priority is Bachelor Arms since that has a character, but it's also the most expensive of the buildings. But, I'm more than halfway there, so that's something.
Plus, Bart is currently skateboarding (annoying because it's only 4 hours) and Lou is interviewing suspects (which is fine because it's twelve hours.)

(And all my other characters are on 12 or 24 hour tasks as usual, but that's personal preference rather than the taskbook)

    Aaaaaaaaahhhhh I get it.......

levelling up is purely xp based...... NOT task based..... so the halloween and "glitch" xp bonanza has allowed people to level up with tasks pending from previous level!!

it takes a while, but I absorb the obvious eventually

Yes, XP levels you up, but certain tasks can't start until you reach a certain level. Since I leveled up so fast, I am at level 37, but I as of yesterday I was still on tasks that started at level 26. So tasks that can start when you hit level 33 can start even though I hasn't completed the prior levels tasks. My record high is 11 tasks at a time, so the guy that had 14, that is pretty impressive.

I'm in a similar position to you - I started playing on Maternity leave so had long, empty days to fill with tapping. I leveled up pretty fast too, but not in quite the same way. I've been at level 37+ for a good while now, but the smallest number of tasks I've had at once was 4. So there's still plenty to do. Plus, if you're focusing on doing the tasks and with all those level jumps, you should have a good stash of donuts - if you save them, you should have enough for a premium item with an associated questline, should it ever slow down too much for you.

The smallest tasks I have had at level 37 is two. I had Kirks and i had the cracker factory and thats because I bought the premium building with luanne(sp?). Now that I've finished the cracker factory and thanksgiving is here, I have 3 tasks
The casino (premium), the thanksgiving/lisa line, and finishing Kirks quests

It does get sparse once you hit 37, but I have 1.5 million dollars which I never had while I was leveling up and buying buildings :D
