Anyone Preparing for the December 5th Update?

Prev13
Not especially. I have refrained from any frivolous spending on decorations in order to build up a reserve of cash. But I'm not going to go crazy to ensure that I have a massive bank.

I figure if it takes me much of the month to afford the update, then so be it. That way I spend less of the month pinning for the next potential update in January.

I just got the Channel 6 building and Kent is out on tasks. I started to have extra cash so I've been doing more expanding and updating than when I'm usually saving for the next thing. I started a city center and moved some things into more appropriate and permanent areas. I've got some volleyball courts next to the apartment for the single people to have something to do.

But I'm thinking about December 5th which is a Wednesday. I'd like to be more prepared than I've been in the past since I've almost caught up with everything.

Here are some things I'm doing in preparation:
    - Buying a few plots of lands in an area that is reasonably priced to have somewhere to put new buildings
    - I've started a small new neighborhood of various houses for additional income. The first time I've bought any additional houses and obviously this is not a farm
    - Cutting myself off from any extra spending, decorating or expanding as of this coming Wednesday which gives me a week of saving
    - Not spending donuts that I have been planning on spending in case of limited items or reduced prices

Anyone else doing thinking like this?

    How about the 23? LOL

I'm actually doing the exact opposite. I just got the post office a couple days, so for the first time I don't have to save up for anything. I'm using this opportunity to finally decorate my town beyond the skeleton of the town set up I've had. I don't mind having to save up once the update comes. I make money pretty quickly now, so it shouldn't be too hard to get everything.

I am saving my donuts though. I've been planning on buying some to get the observatory, but want to see what the next set of premium items are first.

I'm actually caught up on building acquisitions and quests (except, of course, for Cletus and Grandpa  ) for the first time since starting this game back in late August. I've spent the past week or so purchasing land to be used in spreading out some of my more crowded buildings. I'll probably continue in that vein for a while longer. Assuming that the Xmas drop occurs on the 5th, I may start building up a small nest egg starting on the 1st, but perhaps not. I'm not terribly driven to buy all of the Xmas content as soon as it becomes available; I assume I'll have ample time to do so even I start from scratch. I certainly had more than enough time to do so with the Halloween content.

I also just got Channel 6 over the Thanksgiving weekend! I bought about 4 or 5 more plots and completely rearranged my Springfield and added many more decorations and little things. My Springfield is finally looking pretty nice if I do say so! :-)

I plan on just saving up as much cash as I can until December 5th. I may buy more land before then, but I want to keep at least a $200,000 reserve on hand for whatever my come our way with the update.

That's kind of how I got the idea of cutting myself off. I've been decorating my town a lot in the past few days now that I don't have a quest to save for. It's starting to look really good now. I don't mind saving when it starts either I just don't want to go in completely broke haha.

I recently bought 4 spare plots of land I was going to use for the update. And I bring in about $50k a day in income so I was planning on saving a couple hundred thousand for the first building and I have 132 donuts from a $20 purchase to buy any 60 donut characters.

But that plot looked so lonely and after the Formula 1 season ended this weekend I decided to use those four plots for my own Circuit of Springfield. I don't know if 4 plots is enough and even at $120 traffic cones start adding up when buying several hundred. And the stadium seating, etc., will cost even more. But I'm thinking I can get it done for under $200k and still have enough for another plot of land and the first round of buildings.

I'll screen pic the F-1 track once I get it done. Fingers crossed it will look as good as I'm imagining.

I'm not saving anything. As soon as I get enough money for a new plot of land, it's spent.

As for the buildings, I still haven't bought the Krabappel apartment, Channel 6, or the post office. Figured I'd wait until level 25 comes out, yes 25 not 24 before I start buying any other buildings. It'll give me something to do. As for decorating, I've been doing that since I started playing so no need to spend money on that.

Oh yeah, good point! I'm doing the same thing as well: I have a nice little stockpile of donuts and was considering buying the Aztec but decided to wait and see if there are any better premium buildings released, preferably with characters.

I am saving up for whatever comes our way at the next update.

I already have land available I can put any new buildings on. I built a giant lake on just to fill it, but got bored of that and put a house on top of a 3D hedge pyramid island with a load of stop signs in front of it, then built a bridge, then built some small islands with purple houses on from my storage.

I decorate as I go along and theres not really anything I want to buy that I dont have already.

I have all the buildings up to date, so buying the cheapest plots of land now and again but at the same building up the cash steadily.

    Sounds cool!

I haven't done anything on that big of a scale yet. Lately, I keep tweaking my town center with the town hall, statue, gazebo and hedge entrance. I finished a nice patio with a brick wall, patio tables and chairs, flowers and iron gates. It's between Luigi's and the Guilded Truffle.

It's kind of nice to have this week break to do some of those creative designs before the next update with quests and new stuff comes out. I felt like my main purpose was just collecting money for a while there and I never had enough to branch out like I really wanted to.

Finished all missions, on lvl 23 (possibly on 25 now if my XP were still counting like the last Lvl update). By the 5th, i should have about $2 million. I'm reserving all my donuts for any new premium item(s). Already bought enough extra houses, trees, stop signs, parking lots, fences, and restaurants which will replace my 230+ blue house farm. Had to store 250 forest trees to avoid constant crashing. I have a pretty complex 11x10 plot springfield. Hopefully they fixing this issue along with new characters, buildings, and decorations.

I've been saving up a TON of cash, trying to get on every 60min so I can buy the Post Office and get closer to being capped. I want to be immediately set to start Level 24 when it updates. (And whatever Christmas surprises EA gives us.)

Not much for me to do until the Christmas update but save money. I could keep buying land but I really don't want to make my city so big or add so much decor that it makes my game unstable or causes so much lag others won't visit.

I might do a small overhaul to a couple sections of my Springfield just to improve the look.

Why should I? On the level 23 update I had enough money for channel 6 and the post office as soon as they were made available and managed to cap out on xp in less than a week. Like others have stated money is the easiest thing to come by. I will continue to spread my land now and and save up for whatever new buildings come long when the update arrives

Right now I'm trying to get through the story line to get the buildings to have it unlock for the update, cuz I want to get everything. I don't want the same thing to happen as the Halloween event where all I needed was the heck house n wich march but I didint have either cuz I had t unlockt them. So right now I'm only spending on buildings n land but I might save up a lil. But if thy get the primium items working again I hope by the 5 it should b a lot easier getting money n il b perfect timing for Christmas event.
