If it is a way for EA to make more money you can never say it won't happen. Especially if the response to the idea is favorable.

I think you should be able to buy donuts with in game cash. Why not? I like donuts and I have lots of money that I don't need. Let's make this happen.

It is too easy to make money in game now, so the revenue would take a huge fall.

I hate in-game adverts. The game takes a while to load anyway, so having an ad at the beginning would slow that down - a real pain when I'm switching between my main and feeder town. Having a banner at the bottom would make the game much harder to play, especially if you're on a phone rather than a tablet.

If EA implemented something like that without a way for me to opt out - whether it be turning it off and forfeiting the donuts, or paying 79p or whatever - I'd be really annoyed. If a game starts out like that, you can choose to avoid it. If they introduce it now, when people are already committed and have spent money, that's pretty unfair.

I can already see future forum topics "I accidentally clicked on in-game advertisement while tapping and it took me to advertisement page"

    No Ads please

I'm pretty sure they make much more on donuts than they would with ads

there could be a free donut link where you have to watch an advert for a donut. I have a game that does that and you can rack up premium currency quite quickly. You are limited to watching the same advert only once per day.

There's a company called TapJoy who do something similar. You sign up for an account with them and complete promotional offers to earn in-game currency. Sometimes it's watching an advert, sometimes it's downloading another app (usually free), sometimes it's making a purchase from a retailer. It's quite cool if you were planning on buying something anyway and they happen to have an offer for that retailer.

Might be an interesting way for EA to cross-promote their other games.

If it is a banner in game; I would say no. If it were a product placement, sure. A week of Marge caring a Can of Cola; would not be bad, a new temp task, where Maggie get to use new pimper sponge diapers, would be OK. Public service message that Nuclear power is safe would ....... never mind he just blew up the town; that would never sell

    I. Said yes just cause of the fact that I'm rooted and would have "AdFree" running on my phone and tablet anyway, so I won't see the ads but reap the benefits like I do with most games. Homerun Battle 2, Angry Birds and Bad Piggies were fricken ridiculous with the ads and advertising cut screens on the ad versions of them but I didn't want to pay for an ad free version of them so I used "adfree" (needs su permissions) to get rid of them all.

No. The game crashes enough as it is. Ads would only make it worse.

If it was something I could turn on and off, then maybe. But then how would they track it? There are players who have more than one device, so what if they have ads enabled on their tablet but not their phone?
I think the idea about viewing an ad elsewhere in return for a donut is better. It could be one of the options in the donut-buying menu. Maybe enter some sort of code that comes up after viewing it online, since I'm not sure all devices could watch all ads. Yeah, I'd do that.

It may happen and we not get any donuts out of it. People voting "yes" are falling into a trap. You're basically telling EA that advertisements don't bother you that much so feel free to add them to our game! The free donuts is an afterthought.

What about people who already buy donuts? Why should we have our game lagged out or have to endure an ad banner just so the ungrateful leeches have something else to complain about? You know no matter how many they give for "free" the unwashed masses will still feel as if they are entitled to more.
