How many friends?

Prev1
I can't add over 100. :(

I reliably get a "oops something went wrong" message if I try to accept a friend request that would put me over 100 friends.

Why would anyone even want 100 friends, yet alone 200?

Are you guys gonna seriously visit them all every single day

The friend cap seems to have been reinstated. It was removed for a short time, at one point I had 112 friends but then it suddenly stopped letting me add anyone until I cut my friends back down to 100. I think people can still have 100+ friends if they added them during that short time, you just can't add more than 100 now.

Actually, I do visit each and every one of my 100 friends every single day... But I'm currently unemployed, so... Yeah :XD:

Friends are a good way to get xp (you get 31 xp per friend you visit) * 100 = 3100 xp per 24 hrs. (This has more of an impact on early levels.)

Visiting friends is a good way to kill time and make progress in the game while you're waiting for tasks to complete.

Also here's a tip you may be unaware of: You don't need to actually tap the $/XP in order for them to be collected or get the 25 XP bonus for helping out a friend. You can go to a friend, tap 3 buildings and leave, and still get all the $ and XP (the one exception possibly being graffiti--I think you need to wait for the graffiti animation to complete). This makes it super quick to get through quite a few friends in one go, and I have no trouble visiting 100 per day.

I tap them as well and leave. Yet I only have around 14. You guys must have a lot of free time on your hands lol.

While you guys may in fact visit all 100 of your friends. Can you say that all 100 of your friends visit you?

Quality, not quantity is the key

I'm a stay at home mom so I do have plenty of time to visit all of my 120 friends. I usually make my rounds before bed each night. Yeah it sounds lame but I don't mind. Thank you those who answered my question. :)

I'm sometimes made a bit uneasy by descriptions like this, chaiguy. Please don't get me wrong -- I'm not going to condemn any player for playing the game exactly as he or she wants. That's an **absolute** right. And a friend who visits my Springfield is certainly better than one who does not. But when gamers post about how quickly they can get through their 100+ list of of friends (there was a chap who recently boasted that he was able to get through something like 120 in 20 minutes), I'm inclined to think to myself that those aren't people from whom I'd eagerly accept friend invitations. 'Cuz you know that they quickly tap the first three dollar signs they see and are gone from your town in less than 5 seconds. I'd much rather have a friend who going to make at least a cursory check of my town, looking to tap the more high-priced items and perhaps even vandalizing a building or two.

When I wake up in the morning, every one of my buildings has the handshake icon or mop icon. I play hourly throughout the day and every time I go on I have several visited buildings. I'm sure I have a bunch of friends that don't visit, but for the most part I have active reciprocating friends. Since I still get new invites all the time, I tend to delete anyone that doesn't play daily or people that clearly don't spend more than a few minutes a day on the game (characters never have tasks, every building is always collectible, never leveling up, login time only changes once a day). With 100 active daily players I surely get the best of both worlds, quantity and quality! So it is possible with careful cultivation!

Don't you lose that extra 25 pt Xp bonus if you leave your friends' towns early, without tapping it to collect? It takes several seconds to pop up after my 3rd action.

Like Krusty stated before. I much rather have a friend who will scroll around my town & vandalize my 4 buildings as opposed to a friend who will simply tap the first 3 buildings he/she sees, so they can quickly go to one of their other 99 friends.

I actually go through the trouble of scrolling around each of my friends towns & vandalize their buildings first, if those are taken, then i'll go for another building that may take a long time to generate. Super Collider, Krapabble's Apt, etc...

So going through each of my 14 friends takes a while, I can't imagine how long it would take to go through 100+ especially if you use my method.

Of course if you simply click on the first 3 buildings you see to quickly get to the next friend and so on, then I can imagine it would be a lot faster. but still a bit time consuming. But to each their own.

If that's how you guys and gals enjoy your game, then don't let me stop you. Tap away

I do the same. Unfortunately, I don't visit my friends daily. I try to do it weekly, but the whole 37 I have makes it tedious. I can't fathom visiting 100 a day even if you tap the first three things you see.

I spend wayyy too much time in my friends' towns. I always go for vandalization, and I have the building payouts memorized. I always find myself spending 15 minutes checking out all the little details; where people choose to place "hail ants" signs never fails to amuse me! I don't visit them all at once though, I visit about 20 at a time throughout the day.
...But like I've said, I have a lot of spare time on my hands. Although my 300+ other apps have all been abandoned since halfway through the Halloween event...

I now have 111 friends, I am now in the process of culling my friends list down, more or less based the last time they logged in and if their towns look "abandoned". I actually do visit every one of their towns daily, I visit half in the morning and half after work. I always spray paint and/or I tap bigger payout buildings to start their "clock" on the payout time. I also like to look around and see how they are progressing, I added several of theses folks when they were at a very low level and I love to see much they progress and how creative they can be. I don't think it would be very much fun to tap and run just for the money and xp for myself, I would rather help us both out when I visit and I would miss checking out some cool towns.

I had 121 before the cap was put back in, but dropped down below 100 to add better friends (daily players, higher level, more stars, forum contributors, etc.). I now have 99 friends and visit them all at least 5 times per week. I only vandalize unless I see a high-paying building that is available to tap. I'd say I spend around a minute per town unless I see something cool and want to check it out.

I don't think all of my friends return the favor, but there's no way to tell who is MIA. Either way, I get cash and it gives me something to do between collecting from brown houses and sending characters on 10-60 minute tasks.

I have 100 friends and I do exactly as you do and it takes about an hour to get around everyone, give or take. I'm exactly like xrobot; I have the time and enjoy going through everyone's town properly (every day too) and have cultivated my list so only regular and dedicated players are on it.

I'm honoured to be one of your lucky 14 though. 8)

Try using the Origin Client, it worked for me: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9120123.page#25903073

Tested it; you do NOT forfeit the extra 25 XP if you leave w/out waiting for the pop-up "collect" box.

I know that many of you can have a 100 friends, but the minute I add more than 50, no word of a lie, I crash every 2 seconds. Earlier today I had 49 friends but got two invites, I added both, then bam, I can't connect to server, I couldn't access friends at all, until I deleted just one and like magic I can get in to collect from friends again. Why am I being punished  does anybody else have this problem with a magic number. Or is EA trying to make me a hermit. :x

I just had my first "can't visit friends, keeps crashing, can't connect to server" experience and at one point ally friends were gone! Finally got back. I try to spend some time visiting everyone but just learning what is best for me to tap on - especially if the town has no decorations yet. Love how helpful this forum is.
