Have you checked the 'Bugs and Issues' section of the Forum?
Some of the crashes seem to be due to outstanding friend requests, some for too many unclaimed gift bags/cards/presents and some due to metal tree being in Squidport (which was my problem).
The Xmas update fixed my DNA's crash on loading every other time, but I now have neighbors that reliably kick me out of the game when I leave their town regardless of how or what I do. Though I have thought about it, I am loath to dump them. Some are awesome neighbors.
I never have problems on my Android, but had to reinstall after the update. Halfway through buying lotto ticket game updated and quit working. No problems now. Morning all.
I've been having the issue with it crashing every 20-30 seconds and have been dealing with it but the update today went from that to every 2-3 seconds which makes my game literally unplayable.
I've got 220 pending friend requests but can't get to where I need to delete them on the game because the server crashes when trying to load. And, the Origin app for Mac won't load any friends or even find friends when I hit search.
I've been playing daily for well over a year and have spent money on buying premium items and characters and would really like to know what I can do to fix this issue.

I had that problem but mr. Uppercut helped me out and deleted all my friends. My game runs like a champ now.

Just had a friend download and install Origin on their PC and none of my friends on the PC app are loading either. Am I screwed?
I haven't read the whole thread but I wanted to add my experience.
I have a Nexus 5 (one of the most poweful phones on the market) and the 2013 Nexus 7. I would not expect either of these devices to have hardware limitations on this game.
I get crazy crashes. From a simple thing as opening a present and selecting a gift will crash it (not always, sometimes i can open the first one and it crashes, other times i can open 40 and it is fine), to loading a friends town that has tons of stuff around its tree. And this is repeatable, i can keep going back to the same friend and get crashes while other friends are fine. If/when it finally loads, I can easily tell how dense it is.
Anyway, I hope they figure out something. This game reminds me way too much of Battlefield 4, which also happens to be EA and which also happens to be a great game filled with game ruining bugs and crashes.
I've pretty much given up. I'd have to buy donuts to catch up now. When I think of all the hard slogging through whacking day. In wish I had known they'd lock me out of a major update.
**** seriously is EA on Xmas vacation right now? There should have been a fix for this by now. I'm beyond frustrated by how much time has gone by without me being able to play without the damn game crashing every 5 minutes. How can we achieve personal and group goals if it keeps crashing?
this happened to me and i finally figured it out. the reason the game wont stop crashing is because you have too many friend requests. download origin on your pc and click ignore on all your friend requests and the game will go back to working. i havent had any problems since i did this.
Why should I have to buy a PC to play a game from itunes? It's freakin' absurd! I don't have the money but ifvI did it wouldn't matter because I don't want one!

Can't get on

Sorry, had to vent
