When I tried logging out it said origin can't be connected or something so that may explain the friend loss... Which may just be temporary until origin fixes their issue. Oy.
I am on the same error. I thought my home wifi gets borked but I tried another game, it works. Even I am poating with the same network when I tried the game. It is clearly not my connection.
P.s. Idk if I am still moderator here or not, but I am not a mod for TSTO so I can't help. I am sorry.
I haven't tried it again since the morning after I delete all those friend requests which solved the problem but if it is acting as flaky as everyone is reporting here, I may just go ahead a delete the game permanently. I've been allowing myself 3 days to see if the fun factor makes up for the aggravation factor I've been going through. If I experience problems between now and Friday I'm nuking the game.
Call it Day 11. The game is still operating fine since deleting 683 friend requests.
I played it on Day 10 in the morning and in the evening and have come to the conclusion that the game simply is not providing enough fun and entertainment to make me forget about all the trouble I had with it. So I've decided to nuke it and be done with it.
There are a number of things that brought me to this point which I will post here just on the remote chance that someone at Electronic Arts actually reads these forums and acts on them:
It took using Google to look for a solution to a previous problem to even know about this forum. The downloaded game certainly gave no clue as to the existence of this forum.
It took downloading a separate app for my MacBook (Origin) to be able to solve the glut of friend requests problem and I only found out about it because someone posted on this thread and let me know about it. There was certainly no help offered in EA's help section about this specific problem.
The problem itself, too many friend requests bogging down the account, was a preventable one that EA programmers didn't prevent even though the problem has existed long before I encountered it. (I got this game before Christmas a year ago). They could have built in a mechanism to make friend requests expire after a set period (say a month) if they hadn't been responded to. All the fun missions and enhancements mean nothing if you can't even get into the game. I wonder how many players have been lost because of this oversight?
There have been a number of times when people couldn't get in because of outages because of server maintenance which EA could have made some effort to inform us of. When and where? When you log into the game, that when and where.
So this is the end. No more EA games. No more games requiring a server connection to work. Good luck to everyone continuing to play this game. I hope my suggestions are heeded but it makes no difference to me now because I'm out of here. Bye!
After an update mine works really well until 2 weeks later and then i get cant conect to server. Very frustrating. I never get to complete a special event such as halloween or thanksgiving etc. wat really confusses me is i can get on if i use my phone data but if im on my home wifi it doesnt let me on. Anyone got any ideas for that?
**** EA get your **** * sorted 2 days now can't connect, disconnects, sort it otherwise I am going to Aplle for a refund of all I bought, game unfit for purpose SORT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
No connection for me in Germany through Telekom DSL either, but it works well via Telekom Mobile (even without 3G, just a bit slow of course) as well as 1&1 DSL (on Arcor backbone - even if that means going through a VPN). Go figure...
PS: Hi everyone! Thought I'd start posting here after I've been reading for a while. Now I'll start a thread complaining about the wheel. Not.
Yep, I'm having this issue as well. If I'm lucky, I get in once a day, then kicked as I'm about to finish. It doesn't matter if I'm a home or work, so it's not my internet speeds.
This has been happening since the Thanksgiving update, and it's worse. This is why I don't have Origin on my computer.

Thanks but I know that its works fine via mobile network. But if you have no or a poor connection at home I can't use it.
So I woke up this morning and again the same thing since the Christmas update...... Cannot connect to the server so I left it for a bit and came back...... Seems my town may be deleted if I hit play now..... It's that or try sign in and be told I need to log in on the original device which is my phone and the only way I play this game! I've lost a good but of progress since the Christmas update but I continued on!! But I fear this may be the straw that broke the camels back! I lost my progress of I think level 35 or 36 before and I got nothing back! And now I just want my game back as it was when I went to sleep last night! In still getting push notifications but I cannot get at my town!
just few weeks the game was perfect no connection problems and now the last 24 hours is the server bugged AGAIN.
EA FIX THE DAMN SERVER
I'm now on day 4 of wanting to smash my iPad over the first EA employee I meet, and it seems we're still getting nothing apart from the dreaded revolving donut. I've tried to log the complaint on the EA website and it's so put of date, it only goes up to iOS5 which proves they've stopped giving a crap about anyone's concerns about a year ago.
There's talk elsewhere that it could be an issue with your pending friends requests and to delete these will fix it. It doesn't.
**** IS GOING ON ON EA SERVER. the Connection getting Worser by a day. EA must COMPENSATE all players Donuts.
i getting pissed about that and i getting also impatience.
