Judging by the number of people asking about Australia, Europe, etc, I am guessing that no one here is familiar with the app store or how updates are released.
And it was news to me that updates can either be released immediately upon approval or manually by the developer in real time. (As opposed to new apps, which are released at midnight local time in each of the 90 app stores, not all at once.)
I'm a developer and you don't have to manually do it. You could also set a predetermined date (but not time) (I have). It could be set for the 5th meaning that as soon as your time zone hits midnight it should be released.

Good to know... their instructions say you only have those two choices for updates, but have the option you describe for new releases. Still, we would know by now if they'd done that. The American markets are the only ones not past midnight by now
I am in EST too but I expect the update to be up by PST (CA time) since thats the last place where 12:00 AM on December 5 will be...did not expect EA to give EST the time for update...
