Pruning friends list during an event.

tunseeker1 wrote:
Ok here is my dilemma, I had added a bunch of friends for the christmas event and they aren't actually playing the event.

I have a few that I can't drop presents because they haven't started the event yet, and many that have towns full of presents that they opened.

Most are showing low numbers of gift cards(3600 with town full) or none.

Is it wrong to prune them as friends and add someone that wants me to drop gift bags?

It's your town/game. You should do what makes you happy.

Sadly it makes u a scumbag  naaaa I kid  personal I wouldn't worry too much about it. Start off by keeping the names you recognise ( because they always visit you). I would keep the people who are forum regs on here.

Lastly I'd check the last time they logged in ( I know it's not an accurate reading) but if u need to make cuts then do it.

If it's a case of swapping out for forum reg, then sumone who ain't on the forum will go. Regardless to their loyalty ( yes I'm a * ) But only on a Monday

I keep my neighbour list Small so It's easy for me to visit Everbody and share out event gifts easily and fairly.

If you have a 100 friends I'm sure they won't be angry......,...for long

I would start by letting the ones who haven't updated their game go first.

If they clearly aren't playing as you said, then feel free to drop them and find others. Of course, just cuz they aren't playing, doesn't mean they are worthless to you. I don't know about you, but I'm not getting enough gift bags to give to all my neighbors daily anyway. 30 gift cards per is still available from each per day. The cooling towers decoration should be here on 1/1 anyway, regardless.

Although at this point, I'm dropping gift bags mostly on neighbors that seem to be playing, but haven't reached 30k yet. But that list is dropping fast. I imagine some others do same, and I have 86k+ so I don't expect many dropped on my town anymore. Otherwise I give as given if I can.

Most of my neighbors are well over 30k and a few are over 100k, I'm over 67ish and not getting as many to give out so I would rather have people to give some to.

Dump them if u want. If they become interested again they can go on the add me thread & will get lots of new neighbors. However, you should still be able to collect gift cards from them.

This event seems to be more about what you can collect from them (gift cards) than what they give you (gift bags). As long as you're still able to get the gift cards for more spins if you haven't cleared the wheel then 'use' them to your advantage. That sounds self centred but normally having neighbours is a two way street. If they don't help you then they can go.

I just had to drop one of my friends because his town would crash my game because of too much going on in it. So I would do it .

Once I hit 30,000 I dropped neighbours who clearly were not playing. They were still level 36 and had not updated for Christmas because I could hear gremlins when I entered. I still have 80 friends which was enough for mr to clear the wheel. But it's personal preference. I'm sure your inactives wouldn't be offended and you can find plenty of add me threads all over the TSTO world to replace them. It's your game. Play it the way you want to.

I will say, save your Gift Bags for people who are interested in playing. They are so stingy with them, ya gotta make em count!

I have a few like that as well, I know in actives will get deleted after the event when I go back to focusing on tapping squidport tiles and getting mine tapped. And I have a corn crop in like 16 days that will be ready, so I can see dropping at least a third or more. (Have 100, most added for the Halloween event). But honestly it's your town, whatever you do is based on what you get the most enjoyment from.

There is nothing wrong with pruning your list. It is like real life, why spend time and effort ton those who don't reciprocate. I started with those who cause my game to crash and those with ZERO gift cards. Then when I hit 30,000 I went back an cleared out anyone under 5,000.

    Very glad I did.

Ha, this thread reminded me to clean out my friends list. Although, out of 100 people, only 5 got the axe, and only then because they had zero, zilch, nada gift bags.

Agreed, I even have a couple feeder towns as neighbors to reduce the guilt in not being able to repay gift bags.

That said, I did quite a bit of pruning around the end of / after Halloween, mostly because I was getting burned out from visiting 100 a day with the glitch going on. I still feel enormously guilty about some of the cuts, especially when I see a couple post on here, and wish I had pruned less and simply reduced my visits or stopped looking so hard for peoples' corn and channel 6.

I might suggest you limit the pruning to the totally inactive ones.

Yes you are wrong. I have the max number of friends, I never cut anybody, and I visit weekly all my friends. You can be apsycho player, or a normal person player. Normal people don't cut their wrists or worry about how many "friends" don't visit them everyday.
