Actually that's cheap for a lego set of that size, let alone a branded set.
That's my experience as well. I've been a huge Lego fan since I was a kid in the 1970s. I have a couple older Star Wars sets (Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, both ultimate collectors edition), both of which cost roughly double the advertised price of this Simpsons set.
I'm seriously psyched for this set! I'll be ordering this set the day it's released. Only wish I could preorder it! (Yeah, being both a Lego junkie and a Simpsons junkie, I know I got a problem
Prices are out: US: 199$ and Can: 230$ don't know for other countries :P I wish it was less
In pounds, that is £125.52, which is ridiculous. £60 would be a better price for it.
Actually that's cheap for a lego set of that size, let alone a branded set. I expect the price will translate to £150-160 when it reaches the UK.
'Cheap'?
Seriously?
Most LEGO sets I've seen seem to cost £80. I'm quite shocked they're charging as much as they are for this set. Thought it would be a lot cheaper than that.

I wish Lego had a freemium option: they could send me one brick at a time for five or six years. Any translucent bricks or oddly shaped pieces would cost a dollar.
Real life Tapped Out? If it where not for the price, I'd be in!
Real life Tapped Out is just...real life for some people - without the witty dialogue. Buy land, build buildings, send people on tasks and keep all the money and rewards for yourself. You're right, were it not for the price everyone would be in.
This is a huge set, over 2500 pieces, most LEGO sets are ten times less parts than that. Price per piece is actually quite good for this size of set. It is also a good investment if you buy one and tuck it away for a few years, just look at some of the other licensed lines LEGO does like Star Wars, once production ends, prices quickly double and go up from there. I will buy 2 for sure, one to build, one to hoard away, can't wait till Feb when this is released. And to compliment the set they are also releasing 16 collectible minifigs of different characters in May.

But a physical toy you can build, manipulate, and maybe one day expand would be kind of cool!

However if they release the mini figures either randomly or by your pick, I'll def get a few
