Ir you tap Homer 10 times in a row, you'll get 12 donuts and the Jebediah Springfield Statue. Did that help?

Be patient with the game...you are going to be broke for some time while you progress through the game. Its not a race, just enjoy the dialog and building your Springfield. You WILL make money and eventually be able to buy "the next building".

I will try my best, I have played a game similar to this before, was very time consuming and I can imagine things will get expensive the more I progress. Thanks for the reply.

I did it while making Homer relax in the pool, does it work with both?

If u haven't heard yet, donuts dont come easy. Don't spend them on speeding up tasks, or buying scratch off tickets like I did the first few days. I didnt know any better. Set ur preferences to "confirm donut spend". That way u dont double tap a house and waste donuts, like I did with so many.

Build lots of browns to make money and xp. Eventually I feel Blue houses r the beat for building up $$$, that is until u have millions and can farm oranges. Which is where I'm at. Some people look down on house farmers, to those I say get over it its a game. I've got a 100 friends, and I've got over 500 houses, most peoples towns I go to have less design in them and dont look as good.

Not true, at least it wasn't when I did it.

It worked for me with Homer relaxing in the pool, tapped him 10 times, got the donuts and the statue.

It's only 10 donuts so you didn't miss anything. Doesn't matter what he's doing as long as you can see him

I've never understood why people have brown house farms - it pays out $6 every 5 minutes....so unless they are tapping every 5 minutes to collect that $6, it wouldn't pay well. Even if they are tapping ever 5 minutes...well, that's someone who has a lot of time on their hands. Six dollars!
I play a lot (a lot!) but ain't got no time for $6 every five minutes! Phew.

Initially, the purple houses were ideal for me, they payout $75 every 3 hours.
I would put everyone on hour long tasks, those usually have the highest payouts.
I would log-in hourly, if not more, to re-task my people and collect on my purple houses.
Now that I have some money in the bank, I am not as concerned about money, I may sell the majority of my purples and invest in higher payout/longer timers.

So figure out what house timeframes work for your schedule and invest in those and figure out what timeframe tasks work for you and go for it!
Also, get 100 neighbors and visit them each day.

Hang in there, enjoy the journey- the money, land, buildings, etc. will all come in time....

Exactly. I wonder what in the heck I did with my time before I started this game. I am obsessed, in a creepy way. And a whole new monster has been created now that my corn has harvested.

Unfortunately, I haven't lost any weight, probably due to the fact that I have a new craving for donuts...

Your probably right, I don't have the time to be tapping every 5 mins lol, would just be a waste of time. Every 3 hours sounds reasonable. I'm trying to gain neighbours as I type, have posted in a few of the add me threads in the Find Friends section. When you say you play a lot, how much is that a lot? I have patience, I'm here for the long haul :D

In the beginning all I could afford were browns. I might play for 30 minutes a couple times a day, or more.
Now I couldn't stand the thought of all that tapping.
There is a certain progression to building houses. I finally got up to about a million$ and had long since dumped my Browns.
Then I decides blues were it, hit twice a day, dont have to be on exact time like the whites, good Cash.
When I got all the blues built i wanted i dumped everything that made less, except one of each.
When I came close to hitting 5 mil I started building oranges, about 25 at a time. I'm about to dump the blues and just have oranges.
Eventually I will dump the oranges and only have one of each house.
A new more expensive house that matured every other day would be cool, make it cost around a 100-150k.
Have one thats a half mil to build, matures every week and pays no Cash but 1 donut and xp points.
    See, I'm not greedy.

    @bucks118 -
When I say "a lot" I mean constantly.
When I first started about 6 months ago, I would time my visits every hour, to reset my people, but would log in more just to clear other buildings and visit neighbors.
I would not rest at night until every neighbor was visited.
I would even check on my town when I woke up at night to potty (TMI, sorry).

Sadly, nothing has changed much, still log in constantly and check the forum multiple times a day.

Where were you 6 months ago, to give me that advice before it was too late?...
Oh how I crave the good old days, before the tapping started!

    RUN, RUN AWAY!
