Proper Memorials

What would a proper in game memorial look like? I think it is a nice idea but I dont see how it would fit into the game and I think most people would not understand, as I imagine most people who play are not hardcore fans, they probably have no idea who Marcia Wallace is, or that she died.

It is a nice thought though.

Well your right, most people aren't hardcore fans. I've been watching the show since it first came on TV back in 1987 on the Tracy Ullman show and I still defend the show whenever people say it sucks.

It's been on the air for over 20 years, it's going to have it's ups and downs, some shows made no sense or were barely humourous to me and I often wondered what brainless twit approved the storyline. Like the show that randomly had the whole cast sing the Canadian national anthem at a baseball game. It made NO sense but I laughed lol.

Anyways. It's hard to say what they could do to properly memorialize anyone. Maybe something as simple as a Statue with a description that explains their contributions to the show.

I've seen the show maybe 1/2 a dozen times. Lol

So for me ( & I'm probably alone on this) it doesn't mean anything

People have mentioned a new ship coming to the game perhaps.

Been a rapid fan since day. 1 of the show.
I would love to memorialize Wallace or Simon. As long as its a memorial and not a money maker for ea or fox.

Maybe if they have a charity we can donate too or something like that.

As a die hard fan I am glad they ended Hartmans characters and I hop ea or fox doesn't decide to profit of them

If there is another way to celebrate them I am all in

A memorial would be nice. When Marcia passed, it was suggested that maybe EA could hold an event where all in app purchaces for a day/week or so could be donated to her faveourite charity.

I think that would be a fitting gesture, and probably the least they could do.

Also, the ship that was being spoken about was the GreenPeace boat...

 I would love to see this as well. Sam Simon is very philanthropic (animal welfare, etc) and I'm a huge supporter of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society.

I was reading through the news lately and I read an article as well as watched a video about Sam Simon and how he is diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. I found it saddening and it really sucks that man who has dedicated a lot of his life to this show (And many other popular T.V. shows like Taxi and Cheers) is soon going to be gone.

That being said I would really like to see EA properly memorialize him in the game as well as Marcia Wallace who voiced Edna Krabappel.

They dedicated a lot to making this show really entertaining for us as viewers to enjoy in the comfort of our homes. To have many laughs while Homer strangles Bart or when Bart kisses Edna when he finally passes his history test.

I think it couldn't be too much to ask. Plus it could open up the game for memorials for other voice actors on the show(i.e. Phil Hartman) and behind the scenes people.

And if I have to pay .01$ for any memorial for either of them or anyone else who gets memorialized I will delete the game as that would be shameful and greedy on EA's side.

Great idea. Statues would be good. Or various parks/mountains around town. Something like "Krabappel Mountain" (with Edna's face) or "Krabappel Park." and the ship for Sam.

I like the ship idea and the krabappel mountain one too. It wouldn't have to be statues actually, just something fitting to their contributions.

You made me remember having a fierce discussion with someone on this Board back in October. That person had ideas for an in-game Marcia Wallace memorial that were flat-out ridiculous, and was about as accessible to arguments as a pile of bricks. I won't link to the thread, as it got locked (for which I may have been to blame in part, as I got carried away a little bit), but I just re-read portions of it, and it did make me grin. (The person I had the discussion with had never posted on this board before and hasn't been heard of since, by the way.)

The bottom line for me was (and still is): Any kind of in-game memorial is welcome, as long as it is true to the person it's dedicated to, fits into the content of the game.

(By the way, Sam Simon has survived his doctors' prognosis by more than a year now. Talking about a memorial for him, while he is still alive, seems somewhat morbid, as if we couldn't wait. )

Free item to commemorate a kid at heart with an easy humor that could challenge any topic. Should be as massive in size as his contribution to the franchise:

It's unfortunate that I don't think they could incorporate the Simon Says game into TSTO lol

For the Christmas episode, Edna was shown with a pair of wings in the pan to the garage.

An angel skin for Edma may be nice.
