These are all good ideas.
In particular, I'd like to see either gravel or pavers to make a classier type of driveway for the mansions, and to provide a nicer surround for some of the more upmarket shops and restaurants.
I'd also like dirt to provide roads and surrounds for Cletus' farm and Fort Sensible.
The ability for rivers to run into the sea just makes sense - all rivers run into the sea, so Springfield rivers should, too.
Being able to use the groundcovers in smaller lots would also make landscaping a lot easier and better looking.
I think there will be a landupdate soon, my game does not lagg so mutch anymore + we see more of the "unknown" land, just love the word Unknow or uKn they say 8)
This Christmas event is a perfect example of why we need additional ground cover. I like the snow cave and would buy it IF it would not look stupid surrounded by green grass or concrete 320+ days a year. If I could sit it on dirt then maybe, but if I had snow that would be much better. I would be saying "Take my money" and waving a fist full of money at ya.
EA you are missing sales opportunities... Give us new ground cover options already.

Since they are at it, usable road would be nice too.
