What was the golden calf for? Marduk

I didnt really get it either.
I understood it is worshiping the wrong (selfmade) god, in that case a computer game which I see as an analogy to TSTO. So for being obsessed by a game and franatically tapping it, it becomes like a biblical golden calf (Exodus 32).
However, in the bible Moses was on a mountain talking to god whilst his people built the golden calf to pray to. So Homer and Kirk spend too much attention to the wrong; I didnt understand though what would have been the right then.

Though, the two idols outside the Buddhist temple do look pretty snazzy.
I did the same thing, bought one without realising i had a free one. It turned out to be a good thing as they look nice decorating the entrance of my casino.
That's rather interesting...my Buddists got a mandala garden for meditation, and my Shiva and Golden Calf got their own garden with roses for the Hindu side. Throughout art history of the non-western world, Buddist cave temples were dotted along the Indian cliffs (ancient) and then slowly throughout 1000 year span the Buddist culture and religion migrated through Japan and to China, while Hinduism borne another culture on the other side of that continent. So, to place the Shiva ice God and the Golden Calf right up to the obvious Japanese styled Buddist temple (the roof gives it away), isn't quite right, you're off by about 2000 years of religious migration.
Just for tabs for fun: I wrote a letter to a game dev I was emailing (reciprocated emails i should add), I stated something along the lines of that SF got a Christian Church, and also a Buddist Temple, but where does that leave Apu? I asked why couldn't there be a place of whorship for the Hindu's? Then a month later, The Golden Calf came to be. May be a coincidence. I'll keep to the skeptisim side for safe being but...
I'm just saying.
