Sorry to burst your bubble but Frink and his lab cost 150 doughnuts.

    It's okay, mistakes happen. :)

I also think you should buy what you feel you'd want to see around your town. People can give you advice from today till tomorrow, but at the end of the day that's going to be their preference, not yours. Just think about it a little and then commit to it, and buy what you think you'll like. It's so much easier that way.

I guess it's what do other premium players prefer? do they take the premium item that gives you a quest line? (piece o crap car) or do they prefer the premium items that give overall % increase? If I'm giving Ea my money I want it to be for t he "good" stuff. Or am I that much of a novie that I don't realize the piece o crap car gives a % hike as well as quest line?

Just get what you want in our town. If it's a building think about how you'll design it. That's my advice, otherwise you may regret it

You have the donuts, so ea already has your money. There are no "good" or "bad" items. There is no winning the game. The point of the game itself is to collect and make a Springfield. So pick whatever you want to see in your Springfield. There is no wrong choice. And donuts can only be spent in the game, so why are you putting 3,000 donuts into savings and only spending 180? They don't earn interest.

    Good luck!

See I only buy donuts when gil pokes his head around springfield so although I do purchase the boatloads when that happens, I have to be smart about it. I was down to like 90 donuts before the next gil sale sprung up. So I try to buy the "good" premium stuff when it pops up. Which for me means characters that come with buildings. But yeah. The BHL was a huge disappointment so a great purchase has to be made now.

As for what character to buy, who's your favorite? None of the premium tasks are spectacular, so it really comes down to which character from the show that you want running through your town.

it's more like a savings for future updates, I just want to know which combo seems more beneficial to others that also buy donuts. Would you get the car or the hammock? and would that vary based on which character you really wanted to get? there are a bunch of premium characters that I still haven't purchased. The volcano lair, sleep easy motel, I usually skip a lot of the limited time stuff like the Halloween zombies and Christmas stuff. Haven't gotten any of the boardwalk members. Dr. Nick as a classic character from the show when I was a child. So just looking for some opinions on players that are further along than me.

I understand that, but if you're looking for that kind of info, I am pretty sure I saw a thread that breaks down all the pros and cons of premium items in the "FAQ & Guides" section of the forum.
And again, it depends what your priority is. If you want to make more money all around you'd probably want to go with items that give big percent bonuses back. If you want characters than you have those as well, or both a character and building.
If it were me I'd balance it out, and go 50/50 character to bonus ratio. But I say this because I have relatively little money (6 million to be exact). But considering land costs, and new item costs, and decoration costs, I can burn thru that in one hour.
If you don't have money problems, then characters would have a priority, unless you like decorating, in which case it would go back to the 50/50 ratio.
As you can see that's a few options you can use, but ultimately the choice of what exactly you'd want to get would be all yours. You are the only one who knows what would fit best in your town.
Hope this helps in some way.

Dr. Nick is a good buy. He's got some amusing lines

The hammock, well no one uses it not even Homer yet it's Homers Hammock

The car does not come with a quest line. Nelson is the only one with a 30 minute task shooting it

    Hope this helps

I would skip the car/hammock since they are pretty much useless, save your donuts. I agree that Dr. Nick is a good buy.
