Constant crashing

Same here, although not as bad. It crashes a good 4-5 times as I am collecting all my money and experience at the start of the day and also if I swipe through my city too quickly.

Same problem on my iPhone 5. I've tried everything with the app, my phone, and internet connection.

I think for crashing problems everyone should do the following, so we can find the problem, or at least understand the crashes better.

    Device:
    How Did It Crash:
Jailbroken Device (Nothing Wrong With This):
    Free Space on the Device(GB):
    WIFI or 3G/LTE:

    Device: iPhone 5
How Did It Crash: Tapping Comic Book Guy or Trying to Change Homer's Costume. Collecting a lot of money also causes a crash.
Jailbroken Device (Nothing Wrong With This): No
Free Space on the Device(GB): 635MB
    WIFI or 3G/LTE: WI-FI

Wow I have a little bit of free space....

*Constantly* crashes.. generally about once every 30 seconds. Before the Xmas update it was a bit less frequent and generally tied to clicking on someone to start a task, opening a menu etc.

I play it on two devices; a stock iPhone 5 will all iOS updates, and plenty of free space (although I doubt that has any bearing on it) and a jailbroken iPad 2 running iOS 5.something.

Identical crappy performance on either, and the Xmas update has rendered it nearly unplayable.

Guys, I managed to sort mine out by deleting or storing excess trees, bushes, decorations etc. I think if you're town is too complex it confuses the game. Stupid I know but it worked.

Im no tech support but the short answer is that it is an EA server issue

From what i can see over the last 10 months it has nothing to do with your device or memory ( unless u r out of memory)

Try and log in on non peak hours. Ie. 9am EST. or very late
    Is there anyone out there?

Ok same story as many of you. I have been crashing before the Xmas update but now it's even worse. Every time I click on a character or collect money or scroll though my town and pretty much everything else. It's now happening constantly!! I tried resetting my network connection settings and deleting friends and even emptied my inventory. If we all didn't like this game so damn much I would just give up. But I'm hoping someone on here will have a tip that works for me or EA figures it out!

    My device- iPhone 5
Memory left on device- 53 GB
    Not jail broken!
    Connection- I try wi-fi and my 3G

    Please help us!!!!!!

    Hi,
I know I'm not alone in this but my game is constantly crashing. I can't click on Homer, Lisa, Marge, Bart or Grampa without the game closing down. Moving the screen can close it down. i had this problem before the update but it is ten times worse since the update. Because of this I cannot do the Christmas tasks! I have tried everything, deleted all friends, stored all trees and bush, reset network settings, nothing works! Please tell me how to sort this!
    Thanks!

I had the same problem until today.

I spent a good 2 hours cleaning up my Springfield. By that I mean I put a ton of stuff in storage.

I got rid of 8 patio sets, 33 hedges, 51 planter boxes, 17 lawn chairs, 128 different sized flowers, 87 shrubs, and 165 assorted trees. (mainly the ones that had lost their leaves)

Most of this stuff was buried under the snow so who cares....

I also sold off about 15 houses and spread them out a bit more.

Guess what? My Springfield is less complicated now and seems to run smoothly so far. (fingers crossed)

    Give it a try

I don't think that put everything in the store heve to be the solution. Maybe is AE fix this, is better. Then, why I spend most or the time decorating my city? Is better if the instructions for play this game from the day one shuld be, play but don't spend to much decorating.

I think that AE must fix this problem.

The game has been crashing A LOT today.

Clicking on Homer, Bart, or just about any other character will cause the thing to freeze for a few seconds then crash.

I've got an iPad (2nd gen) , as well as an iPhone 4S. It crashes either of them, so I'd say it's an issue with the program itself.

I never had this amount of crashing before the Christmas update, so that's got to be the cause of this.

My game always crashes about a minute after it initially loads...then when I scroll through my city faster (good sized city) it crashes....like most, it was horrible during the Halloween Update, and is horrible now. I really don't want to store all my stuff to make it run better. When I was Brown House farming, it would always crash right before the Brown Houses started to replenish. Regardless, I'm pretty happy when I can get 5-10 consecutive minutes in the game to complete tasks....during this XMAS update, I'm happy if I can get 3-5 minutes. Tapped Out people, please help!!! Get a loan from those Madden people!

    Device: iPhone 4s
How Did It Crash: see above
    Jailbroken Device: No
Free Space on the Device(GB): 5 GB
WIFI or 3G/LTE: Both (slightly better play on WiFi, but not much better)

    Device: iPad 1st gen
    iOS 5.1.1
    Jail broken: no
Most recent addition: Bart's tree house
Crash mode: drops to home screen during load
    Current level: 14 (I think)

Had been seeing the occasional crash, but always recovered on a restart.
Now game crashes every time it is started. Have tried rebooting, closing
out game and restarting, closing all other programs... No joy.
