I will have to bear that in mind. You should make the most of what you have while you have it though.

I've always been interested in history, and really wanted to see the Museum of American History as a kid (one of the Smithsonians, known for having Judy Garland's shoes etc). As an adult I finally got the chance but was sorely disappointed. It was small, loud, hot, and kinda sucked.

So, what are some places that you dreamed of going to but were disappointed by?

Sounds bad! ;-) Can't remember any places I was disappointed about. :-D I love everything. ;-)

Edit: Just realised I hit 200 posts! Yay! 300 here we come!

Yeah, i agree. We shouldnt take anything for granted and we should treasure everything for everything is loved by someone or something.

I second this. If I could go back in time, I'd relive my childhood over and over again.

I felt like most of my trip to DC was disappointing. I would say the only things that lived up to the hype were the Lincoln and Jefferson monuments. Jefferson at dusk is a sight to behold.

Most definatly, not a worry in the world. Not having to worry about bills, stuff for my kids, work, it's all fun and games back then. All my fondest memories I have we're as a child.

+1. Nothing has ever quite compared to my childhood years.

OP this is a really tricky question, probably LA but mainly due to unfortunate events.

I've got an opposite, Disneyland was everything I dreamt it would be, and more. But, I'm a bit of a sucker for Disney films, so..

I was so disappointed by the Alamo that I often refer to disappointing moments as an "Alamo moment". Stepping out of a huge glass mall and crossing a very busy street to a small adobe building was not what I anticipated from watching the movies. The rest of the missions associated with the Alamo were much cooler in my opinion.
